SpaceRay -> Is there any possible news for the Juicer 4.0 Development ? (5/4/2010 10:13:35 AM)

Last year David Hebel said that they were working for a future Juicer 4.0 version, but I have not seen any more news about this, and I am wondering if there could be any news that I have missed and anybody could know something more about this.

I am not asking when is going to be released, I just want to know if if it is in development and for a future release.

I will not ask for a release date, because it would happen the same as with The DJ Download Store, or with the Texture toolkit, or the future new generation of Juice drops. I hope that all is still in development and sometime we will be able to have them.

Anyway, congratulations to the DJ Team for making such a wonderful, beautiful, high quality and useful products.

Please, it would be good to know if the Juicer 4.0 is still in development and getting better and better with new features and mores stability and greater features for DJFonts and others.

I do not ask for a release date it can be this year or 2011, or "when it has been finished"

I just wanted to know some hints about the future of Juicer if it is possible to know a little bit.

Juicer 4 got split off as a separate app and eventually became our new download manager for the download store. It is very cool and currently in beta testing. It's kind of like Juicer but designed based around individual pieces of content rather than volumes of content. We are getting a lot of ideas from it and planning to bring those over to the Juicer as well. For instance, in the download app you can see how the music you download (from digital juice) in a single place because it is just treated as music in a generic way, where as in Juicer you have to look at it as StackTraxx volume 1,2,3..etc. Starting with MusicBOX we redesigned Juicer so that by this fall you'll be able to view all your digital juice music at the same time regardless of what volume it is in. You'll still be able to filter by volume but not limited to that like it is now.

We are trying to simplify the Juicer slowly to keep to its core functionality. This means eventually taking things like Fonts editing out of the Juicer and making that a separate app that gets launched.

We've shaved quite a few seconds off the launch time of Juicer and hope to get it even faster as we streamline it.

Our filtering and search capabilities are getting stronger and stronger. It's not "there" yet but each revision we move it forward and make it better.

Great news on what's coming. As usual Mr. H. thanks for planning so well for the future.

This is a very interesting and good thing and is a great and wonderful idea to separate the DJ Fonts from the Juicer, and perhaps make it better and with some more features or make it to work better and specialized for the DJ Fonts.

I hope that we could see it sometime in 2011.

That sounds great!!! Getting the Juicer more solid would be my biggest request. I have enjoyed Juicer 3 in recent months, but some times I have a lot of crashing issues

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE JUICER 4 NEWS !!!

I am very sorry that I put this 3 days later, as the birthday really was on the 1st of August, but I think is better late than never.

What do I mean with the birthaday of the news ???

Well this news from David Hebel was posted on the 1st of August 2010, and now we are in 4 of August of 2011 and this still has not been confirmed.

I like the sound of the changes!

YES; I like too the sound of the changes, BUT this was said one year ago, and we do not know for sure that this is really still in development in this same way, and that the DJ team is still developing the Juicer 4 in this way.

I really would like and love that the news from David Hebel are STILL TRUE and nothing has been changed from what he said, at least if something has been changed should be for better and not for worse or taking out important things.

But I think that the only thing is to wait and see what happens and wait until is finally released, OR that David Hebel could confirm that this said here is still true.

sliefox -> RE: Is there any possible news for the Juicer 4.0 Development ? (8/11/2011 10:48:18 AM)

I ordered the new Canvases product last night and received this in an email this morning from DJ:

quote:

Thank you for your purchase of Canvases!

We wanted to let you know that we are in the final stages of development of the all new Juicer 4 and have stopped development on Juicer 3. Canvases is not supported in Juicer 3 but will be supported in Juicer 4.

Included with Canvases is a full color printed index so that you can still quickly find exactly what you need and then just drag and drop the files right from the disc.

Sincerely,

The Digital Juice Team

So, it seems they may be close.

I am sorry, but it seems that this is not true, because David Hebel said somewhere else that they will KEEP a little bit more the Juicer 3 updates and will still be releasing new products that were already compatible with Juicer 3 and that they ARE DEVELOPING AND MAKING Juicer 3 for MAC Lion OS and NOT a Juicer 4 for MAC Lion OS, so I think that is not as close as it may seem from that email.

I mean that if Juicer 4 were very close and released soon, the DJ team would not loose time making a Juicer 3 Lion compatible and release a Juicer 4 Lion compatible.

SpaceRay -> RE: Is there any possible news for the Juicer 4.0 Development ? (8/11/2011 3:39:27 PM)

I have found the news of David Hebel that I said in my previous post up here.

quote:

ORIGINAL: David Hebel

There will be some updates to Juicer 3 here and there. We will support Lion shortly and we have a few other new products that we already had Juicer 3 support built in

quote:

Spaceray asked

Will DJ make a Juicer 3 Lion compatible or will be the final Juicer 4 that will be comptible with Lion ????

quote:

ORIGINAL: David Hebel answer
Juicer 3 will be Lion compatible.

you can find this in this thread here ---> http://www.digitaljuice.com/community_forums/tm.asp?m=143371

JUICER 4.0

I have no update on Juicer 4 other than to say we have started the process of getting it to work with all/most of the Juicer 3 content. That will take some time but at least the process has begun! Probably in a few weeks Jeff will start testing and releasing a few screenshots here and there.

Although is not the news that was expecting, and that Juicer 4 is going to be some more weeks away until is released, is great news that we know it and so we are not expecting to see it very soon, and as you say, is good to know that process has begun! And lovely that we will be able to see a few screenshots of the "new baby" 4.0 [:D] [;)] before it is released

SpaceRay -> RE: Is there any possible news for the Juicer 4.0 Development ? (1/15/2012 6:57:38 AM)

Have David Hebel changed ways and know is heading Digital Juice to another different destination, and have forgot about Juicer 4.0, or they have been lying and cheating us to believe that there were really working and finishing Juicer 4.0 ???

A few weeks ??? Well there has been already A FEW MONTHS!!

How is possible that this was said that was IN FINAL STAGES in AUGUST 2011 , and still in January there is no news about this ?

I am putting this thread back to show HOW LONG JUICER 4.0 has been in development and announced !!!

This thread was put on APRIL 2010 !!! and we are now in JANUARY 2012 !!! Nearly two years after there is still NO NEWS of the release date of Juicer 4.0 !!!

Will it ever be available or it is really a dream and vapourware ?

Can we still believe in it ?

If I was surprised in the middle of January that Was said IN AUGUST 2011 that IN A FEW WEEKS will be releasing a few screenshots and NOTHING was already published, NOW we are already IN MARCH 2012.

Please, I would like to know what is the real definition "of a few weeks" is according to DJ ?

Counting from september 2011 it have been already 24 WEEKS since this has been said, is then 24 a FEW weeks ?

well, here no. But if you like this thread and want contibute and help you can keep it active until someone from DJ team breaks again the tight silence and say something about this, but seems that they won´t do it, at least I do not see any intention in the last month and a half

Here is the latest news that was on 1 february 2012

quote:

ORIGINAL: David Hebel

Juicer 4 Update:

It's been feature locked since December and in heavy testing and bug fixing since october.

The main focus is on downloads initially but support for boxed products is also planned and being worked on separately.

It is Tabbed based and supports opening as many browsers as you like. You can pin the tabs and rename them and they'll be like that the next time you open the Juicer.

You can customize the colors of the UI to your heart's content.

Is has taken a long time but not Duke Nukem long. We only got really serious about things once we stopped development of Juicer 3. Things take time to do right and I'm happy with how the app has turned out and can't wait for it to be released.

Hoping to reach beta in Feb.

It seems his hope have gone down the drain, because we already on 15 march and there is no news about it.

tjh -> RE: Is there any possible news for the Juicer 4.0 Development ? (5/8/2012 10:46:26 AM)

I, too, am curious about this - especially since I received the note that they are no longer working on 3.X. Anxious to find out more.

David Hebel -> RE: Is there any possible news for the Juicer 4.0 Development ? (5/9/2012 2:04:28 PM)

Juicer 4 is in active beta testing but we don't have a planned release date. The current beta only supports download products but we plan to add DVD products soon.

Dink_Wink -> RE: Is there any possible news for the Juicer 4.0 Development ? (5/9/2012 9:31:34 PM)

Is there a plan on supporting DVD products in Juicer 4?

David Hebel -> RE: Is there any possible news for the Juicer 4.0 Development ? (5/11/2012 7:49:26 AM)

Yes, we plan to support all our DVD products in J4.

Dink_Wink -> RE: Is there any possible news for the Juicer 4.0 Development ? (5/11/2012 9:25:04 AM)

So any revised estimate on a time line for when I'll be able to use one app ( Juicer 4 ) and preview all the DJ products in one place? This pdf reference thing isn't cutting it.
We're adults here I can take if you say another year. Just give us a real estimate and not one sugar coated.

SpaceRay -> RE: Is there any possible news for the Juicer 4.0 Development ? (5/15/2012 9:42:16 AM)

I bet it will be another year for the beta testing and the possible release.

Or with much luck at the end of the year

this is what I think, this is not based in any real information, is based in what have happened until now.

So if it was already in beta testing in August 2010, and in August 2011 is reaching the final stages of delevelopment, and in May 2012 is still in beta as it was already in 2010, I can suposse that it will not be ready considering this until next year.

JAJohnson -> RE: Is there any possible news for the Juicer 4.0 Development ? (5/15/2012 2:24:16 PM)

I would think that a lot of things have come up to do with it's development & changes are not always 1,2,3 there that's done... LOL I think DJ quality is always of most importance to them... so maybe they were hoping it would be in August of 2011 but with changes taking place in the downloadable world and other things, I am sure they have to do a complete rethink of many factors in Juicer... I hope that they don't rush just for the sake of getting it done so they don't have to hear frustrating comments... David has stated they are working on it continually & I am sure that is the case & as soon as it can be released it will be... I myself always look forward to the new & I will be excited to see what they come up with... I hope for you that you can find something else to think on so you don't have so much frustration over the matter... best to you... :)
