I assume you mean the Juicer program. Your friend is correct in some respects and not others. First, Juicer doesn't come with any images loaded, it is a utility program that is specifically designed for use with Digital Juice products. When you purchase DJ products, you load them into the Juicer. Some products fully load so you don't have to access the CDs, while others only load the previews, wherein you'd have to access the CDs for rendering. The best way to know if you should use Juicer is to look at all the products DJ has to offer, decide if you want to purchase any of the products and go from there. If you are serious about getting pro-level animations, still, videos, plug-ins, etc. for your still and/or video productions, DJ has a vast array of wonderful products. I highly recommend DJ. I should also note that many of the DJ products don't "require" Juicer for rendering, but it typically makes it a whole lot easier. I hope this answers your question.
