Hi, all,

I created a logo using ETKPro Entertainment Tools Vol 016 and it looks absolutely great over the background clip i'm playing.

But when I tried exporting the logo in FCP by first using QuickTime Movie, them Compressor, then QuickTime conversion and then using PNG, MPEG-4, Animation, and Video formats and in each case I'm losing my alpha channel. In other words, I can't place my completed and exported logo back onto the timeline over the background footage I'm playing. The logo is there but it blocks out the background clip!

I used the Million Colors+ selector but nada.

Is it possible to create a project with ETK and save it with the alpha channel in-tack?

Thanks for your time.

Zee,

It is possible to do what you are suggesting.
Be sure to use a format that does have the capability to embed an alpha channel.
Animation, PNG, Uncompressed are the best choices.
Make sure that there are no other video tracks turned on, and make sure that you have millions of colors+ selected in the output.

Hi, Mike,

Well, that's my dilemma.

I needed 3 layers to create the animation.

When I turned off two layers, the remaining layer will produce a clip with alpha but, of course, the other two ingredients to the logo are left out. .. ?

As Elmer Simpson would say...

"...Doooop...!"

What are the other two layers?

Are they fullscreen -  layers that fill the whole screen? If not, you should be able to create the logo with an alpha using the above suggestions.

The other two layers are also animation with alpha. They are stacked right above each other. They do fine as long as I don't try to export them out.

Oh, well. I'll keep-a-trying different ways.

Thanks
