Fist sorry for my english, i use to talk french.

I m maybe a little crazy to ask that, i maybe don t realize, but for exemple to replace the voice on the soud effects, whith a speech tool software inside the juicer, we re can write the text any language we re want, but of course the voice need emotion, for presentation with or pub or........ short talk but you write you re text and the software make the emotion for you.

One italien compagny do that, but they re are to expensive and i think they re the only one!!!!! (with emotions talk) so you write you text with emotions, like, (to laugh,to cry, the sentence changes with all the emotions).

Well please don t be to rude for my suggestion lol! , fogive my english, and can be my imagination, but to dream do not make of evil to anybody!!!

Thank for all people work for digital juice ! and the customer section are really really fantastic !!!!!!

Great idea... and welcome to the fourms

Do you know the website for the other comapny making the production it might be good to see an example.  But I would totally use a product like that.  Merch will hate the idea (he does Voice Overs)

hello bbeanan, I am sorry for the translation, i used a translator on the Net.

Thank you for your answer. I present myself, I am localised in Switzerland, (without wanting too much to criticize, Switzerland with step badly of gap with regard to, audio presentations visual.) Why i talk about idea of the voices of all the languages with the emotions. Switzerland with three part. German, French, Italian. This for a publicity, or a very short comment, l' idea of voice with the emotions, is an idea that i have for a long time in the head. I am a very small beginner in the field of film. i have projects full the head, as imagine: Let us toons speaking with the voices to present a concept. And then a publicity with the presentations of your products for example. Its amazing!!! in all languages! and in more the possibility of laughing, of crying. All is possible with a little d' imagination. A juicer with a software envisaged to be able to write our sentences and to choose our emotions according to the subject represented!!!! We find in Sound effect some examples, but there is we who write what we wish. The voices we could them choose, man, woman, and ...... I am sure that much will have l' of it; utility!
The name of the software for the emotions is TTS DIRECTOR from loquendo

www.loquendo.com

See that :Emotional TTS Voices

Having been among the very first players to adopt the Unit Selection technique, Loquendo is now the first company to bring expressive synthetic speech to the market.

Loquendo's voices have been enriched with a repertoire of "expressive cues", which enable TTS users to enliven their voice prompts. This new development signals an important landmark in the pursuit of expressive synthetic speech.

Developing both stylistically and emotionally expressive synthetic speech has been one of Loquendo's objectives for several years; research has covered both language modelling and techniques to make the TTS software more manageable, without compromising on the natural qualities achieved through Unit Selection. In the near future, research will make it possible to synthesize any kind of text in a specific style (e.g. emphatic, formal, informal, etc.) and in the emotional tone required (e.g. happy, sad, angry, etc.).

The speech market does not currently offer solutions that are capable of changing the style and tone of a voice, upon command or according to the nature of the text itself, without compromising on acoustic quality. Loquendo, however, is now offering its customers the chance to make their vocal messages truly lifelike and expressive. Just like human conversation, expressive intention is conveyed through conventional phrases and exclamations, which are pronounced with a natural and colourful intonation. As a result, the entire message becomes far more expressive.

Example 1:
Welcome to Loquendo's TTS system. You can write anything you like, and I'll say it. Amazing! Just imagine it! It's not so hard, is it? I can say: fantastic. But it sound much better like this: Fantastic! Congratulations. Oh, sorry! Congratulations! I must go now. Thanks to you all!

Loquendo's repertoire of "expressive cues" contains conventional figures of speech, such as greetings and exclamations ("hello!", "oh no!", "thank you!"), interjections ("Oh!", "Well!", "Hmm!") and paralinguistic events (e.g. breathing, coughing, laughter, etc.), suggesting additional layers of expressive intent (confirmation, doubt, gratitude, etc.).

Example 2:
Here's an example. Let's imagine we're arguing. If I say: no, nonsense. That's unbelievable. No, you wouldn't believe me. But if I say it like this: No! Nonsense! That's unbelievable! Doh! It's sound much better. What do you think? Mmm, it's more believable. Don't you think so? Cheerio!

In order to achieve the greatest degree of naturalness, the same phrase can be pronounced using different styles and intonations, from neutral to emphatic, from sad to amazed.

Example 3:
\_Throat Perfect! I can speak almost like a human being. Fantastic. Or would you prefer to hear me say: Fantastic! \_Laugh Now you can choose. Hello everybody, or: Hello everybody! Thank you so much, see you tomorrow, or: Thank you so much, see you tomorrow!

Example 4: Using Emphatic expressions
Hello and welcome! My name is Simon. I'm the English Loquendo TTS voice. Now I can sound much more natural. For example, I can say: it's a pleasure. But I can also say it like this: It's a pleasure!

The 'Expressive Cues' can be typed directly into the text with the appropriate punctuation, or can be selected from an easy to use drop-down menu in which the user will find the full repertoire of "expressive cues" available for each voice. The list is structured according to intuitive linguistic categories, so that appropriate formulas can be rapidly and easily found. In this way messages, dialogue, and narratives can be easily constructed and read by Loquendo's synthetic voices in a truly expressive and natural sounding way.

Merch will hate the idea (he does Voice Overs)

On the contrary Brett. I have on several occasions, actually assisted a good handful of companies in the development of their speech technology.  My first Client, in 2001, was Conversay Speech Technology in Seattle.

Since then, I have monitored the developments in such technology and look forward to its advancements.

As nannybear recently discovered (Merch on IMDB in Off Topic - thank you nannybear, you humble me!), there is so much more to all that is Michael Merchandani, than has surfaced.  Yet.

Stay tuned...

Oh and Maude, thank you for the post and welcome to the Forums!

A juicer like this will be a bomb atomic ! hahahahahah ! you tape the font and now you tape your text hahhaah can you imagine waouuuuu! it david you read me (i don t think i have this chance) tell me, do you think i m crazy?
I joke ! with a emotion software, at this time only one compagny make it ! maybe digital juice will be the next??????

I have to stop dreaming ! Maybe not because behind this so many possibility ! and for other (money lol) it will be so easy for the presentations, or read a text in the screen with emotions,

I would be really interested in this technology, too. Since I use Digital Juice so much, it would be great if this capability was integrated in the Juicer. There are a number of companies working on this software- IBM, Nuance (Dragon), NextUp.com, etc. There was an article I read on advances in animated films and George Lucas said one of the harder challenges remaining is to generate realistic computer voices. Since I am not thrilled with my own voice, I would love to be able to type in my script and have a variety of realistic voices deliver the narration and character voices for my videos. Most of the voices available now still have a decidedly computer monotone, but there are new developments on the horizon. For example, a couple months ago IBM developed a new mouthful of a patent- "generating paralinguistic phenomena via markup in text-to-speech syntheses" - and hopefully some of this will come to fruition in consumer products soon. Of the voices I've auditioned recently on the web, Loquendo does seem to be better, but even their voices at times still sound a bit too HAL like. It's exciting to see all the progress being made, and hopefully before long we can just type phrases into the Juicer and render them out in a variety of realistic voices for use in our videos.

Maude,

I will post back here if I find anything new. It seems right now there are some good voices, but nothing totally realistic. I appreciate you starting this thread, and will be interested to hear what you find, and also if DJ decides to become involved in this market.
