I have really enjoyed the MDT tutorials and I am planning to purchase the product in the near future, but I am wondering if it would be possible to include one MDT sample in the downloads section? Just wondering about a how the elements will function with my NLE.

Matthew, should handle like any other element in you NLE. I just watched the promo and I was totally blown away! I'm so happy that I ordered the first thing. I have no idea yet on how to use it, but I'm sure DJ will be releasing more tutorials, at least I'm hopeful they will! _____________________________ I Keep Buying More... Make it Stop! I am sure that it will in a professional app. But we use Adobe Premiere Elements in my classroom. I am just interested in how Elements will handle colorizing the MDTK files.

I'm not sure of the limitations of elements, hopefully someone will see this and advise you!

Matthew, Glad you're liking the tutorials we're putting up. MUCH more are on the way. As for PE, according to this thread, it does in fact support alpha channels which means that you could use the MDTK elements in their native format with no issues whatsoever and drop them over any video or image. As for colorizing, it will act like any other clip that you want to colorize in PE. If you can colorize an image, you can colorize the MDTK elements (as well as any other elements from DJ). Hope this helps and keep your eyes peeled for more training! Don't forget that if you have any training specific questions, comments, or requests, head over to the DJ Training Forums. _____________________________ Film Editor, Videographer, Motion Graphics Designer, and Producer JUST UPDATED!! http://www.SeaLightEntertainment.com http://www.JimBreuer.com Juice: 300+ (in reply to jestyx) |

No doubt, Elements does support alpha channels. We use a wide variety of DJ products in the classroom all the time...from swipes to the Compositor's Toolkit. I am assuming that I will be able to replace the black and white image with other colors. I guess we will just have to purchase and test it out.

I don't have PE (or a working Windows machine for that matter...), but if you can colorize any element using an effect (whether it be video or pictures) in any of the videos you've worked with, then you can colorize any element in the MDTK. It's the same concept. I hope someone with PE will chime in and confirm this. _____________________________ Film Editor, Videographer, Motion Graphics Designer, and Producer JUST UPDATED!! http://www.SeaLightEntertainment.com http://www.JimBreuer.com Juice: 300+ (in reply to videoteacher87) |
