Really? Only 24 buy one get one DJ Fonts left? Imagine my surprise when I bought it five days ago and learned that the two I ordered (5 and 6) are BACKORDERED. Brand new items that are BACKORDERED. Why be deceptive about it? Why not call it what it is? PREORDERING!!!

Hey, they want your money and you want a product. Don't buy just because "It's a good deal.".  I see this all the time on television. Our operators are standing by and this special offer is only good for the next 30 minutes. It's all Bullsh*t .

They were available and probably sold out. I know several people have already received their copies. Mine in grouped. No deception at all, they just need to produce more as they try to limit the amount of inventory on hand. To me that's pretty smart business.

Mine were backordered, but I imagine they're working fast to fill them, because my order went out the next day. I don't think they're deceiving us.

My fonts 5 and 6 are installed and being used.  I have never waited long for anything that was listed as backordered by DJ.

Me too. I got my stuff right away... In another thread, someone noted the product utilized stick-on labels (It appears mine are of this flavor, not that I really care once I install)... It may be that the very early buyers indeed got the stick-on labels in order to fulfill the early shipping, but when people expressed their valid concern about the stick-ons, DJ decided to wait until they could do print-on-disc labels, which delayed shipments.

As for the "deceptive" advertising, I don't think DJ is guilty of anything others don't do to promote an urgency in placing an order. If your deadline doesn't afford you the time to wait a few extra days to get your backordered product, my bet is that DJ Customer Service could find a way to get you the product faster (even though they may have to spin a copy onto a DVD-R and do a lick-n-stick label).

It may even be that the "Backordered" status was negated later that day when their expected shipment of the product was delivered. Hang on a day or so and let us know whazzup.

I ordered mine either the first or second day because I did not want to risk missing out on the First 500 deal.  I also recently purchased Backtrax 2.  Both of these have been reported by some as having poorly applied, stick-on labels.  Because of this, I checked all of my disks when they arrived.  If they are stick-on labels, I sure cant tell but I dont want to try to peel up an edge either.  Since the Fonts are installed locally on my HD, the discs wont see the usage that some other products do.

I have only ever had problems with one disc in all that I have purchased.  That disc was quickly replaced by customer service.  Considering the prices we enjoy with the DJ sales, we really have very little to complain about in my humble opinion.

Hello Stan,

You reminded me of a very clever competition a few years back using PS for "deceptive advertising".

http://www.freakingnews.com/Deceptive-Advertising-Pictures--1530.asp

BTW, I ordered mine... on 29.10 and delivered to UT on 04.11 ... awaiting USPS for Ireland... any day now!!!! Fingers, legs, eyes and everything else crossed

cheers,
Paul

The number of Introductory Deals and the number of units in stock initially are two different numbers. We usually stock 200 units to start with in our warehouse and then try not to run out, but sometimes things move a tad faster than expected. When we say "left" or "remain" we generally are referring to the number of "Deals" not actual inventory which may be more or less. Although many times the two are the same. Apologies for the backorder situation, it does happen from time to time due to the fact we try to not let our inventory get bloated.

Update. Two weeks later. Still backordered.

so it's the number of "deals" you're offering... and it doesn't match physical inventory. Do you not see that some long-term previously well-served customers are going to be perturbed by this? Worth it? I think not. Collateral damage I guess. But hey, you guys know what's best.
