This is not a post about shipping rates, etc, but what I would like is an option at checkout to select to pick up the order (or release a group order) at the warehouse. Since I live near the warehouse it is pretty convenient for me to pick up there and Customer Service always is great about doing it, but like today so far and yesterday when I checked, no one was online to chat. I usually like to do it that way, instead of releasing the group with special instructions, but I just did that and hopes someone processes it and it is available for me to pick up today at lunch.

Anyway, having a shipping option to pickup, which could be an option that maybe only shows if you pick a shipping location within a certain distance or maybe even a preference (which is turned off by default), that way it doesn't accidentally get selected by mistake. If it is there, then probably a confirmation window should show up to make sure that is what the customer really wants.

This will make the order history correct online (as far as the prices paid,etc) and it saves customer service time having to get in involved. Once the order is ready for pickup, then maybe an e-mail could be sent letting you know (an probably could be automated so when the warehouse staff packs the order (or sets it aside for pickup) the e-mail automatically gets sent (or maybe even a text message).

Anyway, I know it only affects a few people that can do this, but if it can be done, I'd love you even more.

if you want to pick up the order you have made, perhaps you could SEND the order to the DJ warehouse.

I mean in the shopping cart, when it ask for the delivery adress, instead of putting your adress, you can put the 600 Technology park, or whatever the DJ warehouse is, so the automatic computer that manages the orders will not be able to send it anywhere and will be kept there, and so then when your order receipt can go to the warehouse and pick it up there.

I do not know if this would be possible but is just an idea, and do not know what will happen with the shipping price when you put the DJ warehouse as adress, will it charge you to send the order to the same place that the order is already waiting to be delivered ?
