This is the first time I'm rendering from Juicer under Windows 7 Ultimate. I'm trying to render one animated "frame" video from Animated Frames v2. I specify the output location as Z:\Home Movies (a local hard drive), and the render seems to complete okay, but at the end the "Show folder containing rendered output" takes me to C:\Users\myusername, there is no rendered file there,
and doing a search of arr hard disks on the system for 0057_Frame turns up nothing. Can't seem to figure out where the render ended up.

Deleting Preferences.xml from C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming\DigitalJuice\Shared, restarting Juicer and rendering again did not change the behavior.

I can successfully render to a folder on the desktop. For now, I can do this as a workaround, and just move the files to the appropriate drive after the render.

The destination Z: drive was formatted under the same user account, and all folders on Z: were created under the same user account. The user I'm logged in as is the owner of the Z:\Home Movies folder, and the account has full control over all folders on the drive. Other applications have no trouble writing to these folders, again under the same user account. The drive is a local, internal, SATA drive attached to the motherboard, and doesn't require any special drivers to access it. Very strange.

I'm sure I'm missing something fundamental. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm having the same problem. I suspect it is the new ver of Juiceer. I did not have this problem before. I will try the render to desktop workaround.

I asked DJ support about this in 10/2011, and it was suggested that I delete the Preference.xml file and restart Juicer, but that had no effect. When I rendered something, the results were:

a) The rendered file does not appear on any hard disk on the system.

b) The "Show folder containing rendered output" at the end takes me to C:\Users\myusername, where there are no new files.

c) Nothing new appears in the specified destination folder Z:\Home Movies (a local hard drive).

It was then suggested that I send the output to a folder on the desktop. That worked. I then examined the permissions on this folder vs. the original Z: drive destination folder, and the permissions are identical (full control and everything else is permitted for the current user, administrators, and all authenticated users). I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, and the destination drive is internal.

After discussing this further with DJ support, I was told that the issue would be escalated to the test team, and I never heard anything after that (10/20/2011). So, I continue rendering everything to the desktop.

Just more fun with Juicer that never got fixed. It happens with some drives other than your OS drive. I have several drives and Juicer won't render to some of them. I have copied and changed permissions and it makes no difference.

Thanks for the info. I have read similar posts regarding renders. Funny thing is that Juicer was rendering to this drive before. I am less and less impressed with the Juicer every day. To the point where when new stuff comes out and I'm ready to hit the <ADD to CART> button, I look over at the tally of wasted hours fighting with the Juicer and I come to my senses and move on to something else.

Things I've learned to live with Juicer. Always render 1 thing at a time or make a list. It crashes mostly during a render.

I usually just add files and click in and out of settings until Juicer crashes. Then restart and it seems to do better the then.

Always back up files before doing an upgrade.

I've done a total reinstall of Juicer with the new versions and it still has problems.

But I'm sure Juicer 4 will be better that's why it's taken years to make.
