Does everyone have the same issue of the Toxic Type and Ready 2 Go taking so much time to render out? Just a simple Toxic Type - Chain Reaction - shows that it will take close to 5 hours to render approximately 20 seconds. I'm truly new to this, have purchased a boat-load of DJ goods, cause they're so great, but I have a hard time using because of chug time... Is this normal, or can someone provide advise to what would be better or tell me what I may be doing completely wrong? Thanks in advance everyone! Greatly appreciated. AdMan360 |

This really depends a lot on each users computer setup. A computer that seems fast can still be slow when it comes to running AE and doing renders. Also the output format makes a difference and the the version of the software can make a difference too. My PC was custom built by me with video editing and PS usage in mind. It has a lot of RAM which helps. I made sure the video card can be used by AE to help with the rendering. I am using AE version 5.5 64-bit. So I rendered the R2G collection 5, "Cube Play" without any changes to an AVI file. The render took 14 mins, 33 secs. I got a 2.57 GB file that runs for 33 seconds. While the system was rendering, I was checking e-mail and browsing the web. What are the specs on your PC? _____________________________ ConsultingByJeff Jeff Goldberg, MCSE, MCT, A+ VTX HD ETKP 4,11,12,16-20 THM 3-17,25-28,84,106,107 MDE 1-10,16-19,21,26 SWP,JB,JD,ETK,STX,SFX,VTX,PDE:ALL PKO,Canv,TT1-4,JDC1-3 Win7 x64 16GB Core i7 Vegas Pro x64 Canon A1S (in reply to AdMan360) |

So clearly the 64bit, CS5.5, lots of RAM and a GPU makes things go faster. So adman360, for comparison purposes, what specs on your machine? < Message edited by dasmith -- 2/17/2012 1:47:44 PM > (in reply to DuaneConatser) |

Yes, the GPU is used a lot more by the newer versions of AE and PS. Even the plugins are starting to advertise GPU support. The 64-bit system can take advantage of much more RAM which gives all those CPU cores (Duane has 8, I have 4) the ability to work together. I have seen benchmarks that show 70% improvement over 32-bit, dual core systems. _____________________________ ConsultingByJeff Jeff Goldberg, MCSE, MCT, A+ VTX HD ETKP 4,11,12,16-20 THM 3-17,25-28,84,106,107 MDE 1-10,16-19,21,26 SWP,JB,JD,ETK,STX,SFX,VTX,PDE:ALL PKO,Canv,TT1-4,JDC1-3 Win7 x64 16GB Core i7 Vegas Pro x64 Canon A1S (in reply to dasmith) |
