Nevermind. I found I was doing something wrong. When I start from a ready-made menu in Encore, and delete their stuff and add mine, it all looks fine.

Hi,
So I just created my first menu with a DJ animation as background (Particle Rain/ETK ProSingles 106). I am not so savvy with the Juicer yet so I just did a straight rendering as QT with alpha of a HD background and imported the output into Encore CS5.

But when building the menu in Encore, whatever typeface I use (TrajanPro, Myriad etc) at really large sizes (72pt) the text always gets really jagged when checking either in the rendering preview or at the final DVD (testing on computer - I have no access to standalone DVD player and TV where I am at.)

In Encore I have tried the SD and HD menu template for PAL 25fps, and Juicer rendered for that as well

On a static background the text is OK but not super crisp, but it gets horrible with animation. And I am not talking about 2-bit highlights, but the basic chapters, button text, headers, etc.

Is it not possible to have nice text on a moving background? Does all text need to go on static background?
