Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to insert a clip that is longer than the video zones in Ready2Go for Premiere templates. I tried it but I am very inexperienced in premiere and video editing in general. To explain better, I have the clips that I want to insert in the template but they are all longer than the predefined video areas. I would like to extend the duration of each video area and keep everything in sync. In addition to that, I would like to add more clips in the template. Are all these possible? Thanks |

I have extended several of the projects with clips as long as 2 minutes, although I use the After Effects version. This is not easy to do for beginners in AE and probably not possible in the premiere versions. Hope that helps. Here is what one looks like extended that I did for my church. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B2HTPS2QuuVrdU5qdUNnWTFad0E/edit?usp=sharing _____________________________ Jeff (in reply to spyderkid) |

WHOA, JEFF! I love what you're doing with the templates for your church! That's awesome! If you feel like sharing more I'd be excited to check it out! Spyderkid, I'm not as familiar with the Premiere versions or to what length you can extend them. You may be able to find some answers on the Premiere tutorials on DJTV: http://www.digitaljuice.com/djtv/default.aspx#sb=0&fl=3.392,12.3033 . Like Jeff, I work with the After Effects templates. IMO they provide more flexibility; you can adjust almost anything to fit your project. If you're enjoying the R2Go line, I'd suggest eventually making the leap from Premiere to AE. It might seem a little intimidating at first, but it's actually very empowering (as corny as that sounds). Working with the AE R2Go templates taught me A LOT of nuances within the software. If you ever switch over to AE, I'd be happy to help you learn the ropes. I've walked through the After Effects basics with a few other forum members and it's always been pretty easy to grasp. If/when you make the switch, feel free to shoot me a PM and we'll link up. J (in reply to knowtheway) |

Jeff, that was super! My goal is and has been to do something like that for our church. I've done a few but not on a regular basis and nothing as good as what you produce. Great job! Now, the reason I came on this forum today was to check out any info on the Ready2go series for Premiere Pro. I wanted to know if the lengths could be changed for the segments and I believe that I have found the answer here in the forum. Generally speaking, I understand that the length cannot be changed. If I am wrong please correct me. I own several Ready2go volumes for AE but I am really struggling with making changes in them such as segment lengths. It seems like when I add time to the project then change the length of a segement or even duplicate a segment that it messes something else up. You have convinced me not to give up but to keep trying to learn it. Tutorials help but they often gloss over some areas or assume I know something that I don't. Anyway, I'm going to continue to plug away and learn what I can with AE until the little light bulb turns on in my head and BINGO I got it. For you tutorial makers out there, keep 'em come'n, they help a lot. Thank you. Ted (in reply to knowtheway) |

Hey Ted, Hope all is well! If you're still interested in learning the ropes on those AE templates, I'm happy to lend a hand. Mr. E inspired me to help others more on the forum and I feel like I know this aspect well enough to teach you anything you need to know about adjusting the timeline. Shoot me a PM if you're interested! (in reply to vm) |
