I'm running 388b build166 and have downloaded the updated 388c build 171 for Windows. When I try to upgrade I get an error saying that the catalog preferences file is marked read-only and directs me to C:\Program Files\Common Files\DigitalJuice\Shared, a folder that does not exist on my machine. How do I update Juicer3?

Backup all your files before you upgrade on the 171 version. It ate everything except the catalog folder and I had to reinstall several sets. I restored to before the botched install and tried it again with the same results. Took 3 times to get it to work right and not eat most of the products. I save the database file before upgrading. Makes it easier to get back to where you were when Juicer goes bad on you.

Try right clicking the Juicer icon and select "Run as Administrator". See if this helps.

I did - no difference. I also ran the install from C drive as Juicer has issues with some drives. This one was real bad but the last few were better on install errors. (in reply to windhamjim) |

Where is the database file so I can back it up. I've been lucky to never have serious problems with the Juicer, but this one is a biggie. The current version I'm using is stable, so I'm hesitant to upgrade if I really don't have to.

Open the Juicer. Click File->Catalog Manager A popup should appear. Click NEXT on the bottom of the popup. Look at source path by hovering the mouse over an entry. Not all products need to be installed in the same place. My catalog is on my D drive. Some product do not give you an option and they end up inside the Digital Juice folder. Good Luck. I am not having any of the problems you are having. <Set fingers crossed> _____________________________ Jim "It is fun doing the impossible" Quote from Walt Disney (in reply to TGlinskas) |

DB file in Windows 7 is C:\ProgramData\DigitalJuice\Shared There is now a new version out. It installed ok and no errors. Is there a revision history text anywhere of what was changed in each update? (in reply to windhamjim) |
