I’m trying to use the Editor’s Theme Kit. Motion Design Elements, wedding themes, 05 wedding bells, theme_005_HD_frame2 with Juicer v3.89 b119 and Sony Vegas Pro v10e. I have referenced the following links and I’m still having problems. http://www.digitaljuice.com/support/knowledgebase/topic_detail.asp?tid=13&cid=11 http://www.digitaljuice.com/support/knowledgebase/topic_detail.asp?tid=10&cid=11 http://www.digitaljuice.com/djtv/detail.aspx?sid=519 http://www.digitaljuice.com/djtv/detail.aspx?sid=523 (although Sony Vegas wasn’t covered) I’m having two issues as follows (see attached screen shots): 1) As you can see the frame isn’t resting against the edges of the screen. Even though my project settings are 1920x1080 and the frame was rendered with the canvas at 1920x1080, the frame is much smaller. 2) I can’t figure out how to get the black background transparent. Both tracks are set to Source Alpha. Thank you. Attachment (1)

Screenshot isn't showing up for me but I'll take a stab here... 1)Click on Event/Pan Crop icon on your clip. In the Event/Pan Crop window, right click on your clip and select Match Output Aspect. You may also need check to see that Maintain Aspect Ratio is set to Yes in that same window (in the list on the left. 2)Depending upon the clip, you may need to select Premultiplied Dirty instead of Straight Unmatted (in reply to CaptainKen) |

Thank you for your reply. I tried your recommendations, but I couldn't see that it changed anything. 1) Is it possible that the frame was rendered incorrectly? Strange I can't see the uploaded screen shot either. You should be able to see the screen shot here. vegas_DJ_MDE_TransparencyIssue I also re-uploaded the screen shot as well. 2) There are two files as shown here, will I also need to use the matte file? Is so, how? THEME_005_HD_Frame.mov THEME_005_HD_Frame_matte.mov Attachment (1)

screenshot helps :) As for the size issue - look at the settings under Layer as it appears to have been resized or, if that's the way it came in, you can bump it up from there. Personally, I avoid the Juicer whenever possible and just pull my file(s) straight off of the disc(s) into Vegas and doing any resizing/positioning/alpha channel setting within Vegas. I don't have that particular Themekit but did just pull some MDE files off the discs I have into Vegas, set the alpha channel and resized as necessary so you may want to give that a try. This will also mean you won't need to use the Matte file so you'll only need the frame file. < Message edited by jmeredith -- 5/18/2012 2:45:14 PM > (in reply to CaptainKen) |

I wanted to use Juicer as it keeps the file size at a small fraction of the original. there's a huge difference between the Juicer rendered 34.3MB vs a massive 1.27GB. I finally got transparency using the Chroma Keyer set to R0 G0 B0. Tracks 1 and 3 are set to Source Alpha. Setting the Alpha channel for the theme had no effect. Notice in the attached preview video how I'm getting distortion and remnants as the shine travels around the frame. Attachment (1)

I tried the original file from the DVD without using Juicer and it worked by simply setting the media properties in vegas to Field order=none and alpha channel=straight. I then tried rendering to Quicktime, Format=H.264, Field Order=Lower but Juicer crashes at around 2%. I also tried rendering with Juicer to Quicktime MPEG-4 and Format=Animation, but no luck. I also tried rendering to Quicktime, Format=Animation, Field Order None, vegas alpha type=straight and that worked with alpha channel=straight in vegas. Juicer field order=lower worked the same way. However, I'm left with a huge file size of 666MB. Have I stumbled across some Juicer bug? (in reply to CaptainKen) |

Ok, finally got it working with a small file size!! Juicer Settings - Canvas Preset 1920x1080 NTSC - Output - Render Alpha Separately = not checked - Field Order = None - Format = Quicktime Movie, with Compression Type = MPEG-4 - Format = Quicktime Movie, with Compression Type = H.264 (also works) NOTE: I did not have to change the Alpha Channel. Track Compositing Mode=Add The only other issue I have is that when I trying to render in Juicer using Quicktime format with H.264 compression type it consistently crashes at 2%. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Juicer v3.89, 119 but with no luck. I tried on another PC and it didn't crash. So if anyone knows what I can do to stop the crash on my main laptop I'd be grateful? (in reply to CaptainKen) |
