Do we need more than a single $1 deal? Last 2 months is just the one thing. Could we use 1 or 2 more?

I wish they would repeat Last month's Animated Canvases 5 for a buck. I just made a purchase that included vol 6. I didn't buy anything last month. _____________________________ Bob www.southcoastmultimedia.com (in reply to dasmith) |

I was a bleeding edge DJ supporter, until today. With the deals for new customers always getting a good break - I am done with bleeding edge. DJ products are good, but they are leaving a lot of money on the table. Marketing team needs to rethink GOLD customer appreciation deals. I chatted with customer support, but the deals they are pitching me are not inviting me to open my wallet.

I'm also a fan and supporter of the beloved juice-makers. I often purchase currently un-needed products because of the deals in the hopes I'd use it later. While this strategy has not worked for me (lots of stuff still in the shrink wrap), I have never been hesitant to make an unnecessary purchase when a "good" deal comes along. A $1 deal (regardless of what it is) has always pushed me to look for something I can buy just to get the "good" deal of the $1 product. Admittedly, I didn't need the $1 item nor the $100 I spent to get it. I'm just hoping that some day that magical thing I bought (unnecessarily) will be the exactly thing I needed. I guess I should keep my mouth shut on this because more $1 deals will open my wallet. There is clearly a formula at work here, more $1 deals probably means more sales. As for bleeding edge, a $1 on new product (all the animated canvases and most of the regular canvases have come out as new product at $1). So actually I see a reward being offered to customers on the bleeding edge with these $1 deals as introductory pricing. (because they sure don't last - try getting a animated canvases #2 right now for $1). ds (in reply to Blazer) |

Yup, within moments of the email going out announcing a 2nd $1 deal, I had made a purchase.

Hopefully they'll make up for it and go back and do Canvases 5 for a $1 deal (the only one they've forgotten to offer as a $1 deal). ds

If you ping customer service they can assist you in a swap out for Canvases 5 instead of 6. (in reply to dasmith) |

Mr. Hebel....I am trying my best to keep up and support you. I always try to buy R2Es and Canvases in early release. Here lately with the $1 deals for noobs, I am not allowed to do so. I have all the previous versions, therefore my buying version 17 today will not give me anything. For someone who buys all your products, this is a hard pill to swallow. Today's latest e-mail states 17 special will sell out today. Well, that just breaks my buying trend. I have mentioned this to customer support. They offered 17 at $75, since I have all the other versions. But that offer does not make me feel like a friend or part of the DJ family. I rather get a $50 gift cert or something of the same value as a noob. Somethng useful that I can use to feed my addiction with keeping up with my canvases purchases too. I feel like I am trapped in a revolving door sales process that rewards new purchasing clients but does not reward your die hard supporters. Please advise me how to support you best. Thank yoU!

There's no way they can come up with a deal for every situation. I've used up a $1 deal for an animated canvas, which I doubt I'll ever use--I would have much rather had the 'regular' version of that canvas, but it didn't come out until a few weeks later. If you had no good way to get R2G 17, wait until R2G18 comes out, and you'll probably be able to get both for a total of $100. Sooner or later they'll come up with something that will work for you. There's still no business in this field that gives you more for the money than DJ, but we've come to expect too much. (in reply to Blazer) |

If you don't need it, don't buy it. It is a good thing to support DJ but they don't need charity. _____________________________ Jim "It is fun doing the impossible" Quote from Walt Disney (in reply to Blazer) |

quote: I feel your pain and understand the obsessive-compulsive disorder we share--OCDJBD--Obsessive Compulsive Digital Juice Buying Disorder. But this thread "makes me sad"--hehehehe---kinda like that "You need more fiber" commercial. Sad because of the pitiful criticism of the deals offered, the frequency of $1 deals, the make-up of the deals and of DJ in general. Yes, I did "whine" a bit in my above post, but when it degenerates to personal attacks==COME ON! Maybe the marketing should use the old National Lampoon tact--albeit a joke, of course! The cover showed a dog with a gun pointing at its head. The text read: "If you don't buy this magazine we will kill this dog". DJ could do on that says "If you don't buy this Weekend Deal we will kill this dog". Hey it is worth a try! Thumbnail Image Attachment (1)
