I have just been commisioned to do a series of public service announcements to air throughout the country on local area TV stations. I was ready the copyright licence and wanted to be sure i' m covered. Specifically. Can I use backtraxx music beds in numerous ads that will air (broadcast) on cable, Satalite, and air waves? I guess the same question goes for Videotraxx too. Oh, I did notice I cannot use backtraxx for pornographic material. Well, there goes my part time job as having the best editing job in the nation!!!

Yes, the royalty-free license for these products allows you to use the items in your productions regardless of distribution (excepting the adult market). You cannot sell the items themselves or as part of another image or music library, and you cannot use the music by itself as a " performance" piece.

I may be wrong but I think our excluding provisions for porno is simply an extension of the excellence as a company that we have always tried our hardest to exude, be it professional excellence or moral excellence. Sort of like when a politician is connected to something that' s less than favorable in the public eye. It' s never good for their campaign. _____________________________ Brandon Demonbreun Composer/Engineer DJ Audio Products (in reply to Graham) |
