I see that a lot of people are using Premier Pro (so obviously a PC). I have Premier 6.5 Mac and a PC version of Premier Elements. In Elements I can size the text in a title using keyframes fairly easy, so that it changes size, opacity, etc. as the timeline continues. Is there a way to do the same thing in 6.5? I can do this in After Effects. It seems to only want to change the title properties in the titler or whatever that part of 6.5 is called. I'm trying to use this with a DJ revealer so that the text of the title starts off small and transparent and ends full size and 100% opaque. Thanks for your time, John |

If memory serves, right click on the clip and select "Motion" and you can resize in that dialog box. It's been at least 5 years since I played with Premeire 6.5 so i could be wrong with the menu name bt I know you right click the clip and select something to access the motion window.

Appreciate the info.... I've been waiting for Adobe to upgrade the Mac ver of Premier but when you talk to them, they won't even discuss the subject.... I may be switching over to the PC version of Premiere, AF, etc.... John (in reply to Graham) |

John I don't have a Mac but I'm sure it's the same make your title and select it from the time line and go to the effects tap on your previve monitor there should be motion and a opacity setting there then you can move, size and change the opacity by keyframing it

I actually got it to work, but what took 40 minutes to get it right in Mac Prem 6.5 took 10 minutes in Prem Elements PC.... that's the part that's a pain.... it would be nice if Adobe would release a new Mac ver of Premier... John (in reply to Graham) |

Yep... I could. But since apple doesn't seem to want to sell it except in a $1200 bundle, I'm probably not going to do that.... I probably would buy it if it was separate and reasonably priced. I do however have a copy of FC Express that Apple sent to me some time ago, for free.... It works OK, but for $600 I can upgrade Premier, AF and the rest of my software which works out to about half the price..... and since the editing I do is for the hospital I work for and the church I attend, I don't make money doing this so everything is out of pocket. I hate to admit it but the only time I buy anything from DJ is when it is on sale... can't afford it otherwise. Speaking of which, any idea if they are ever going to put BT #1 on sale? Rumor has it that Apple and Adobe made a deal not to release Final Cut for PC or Premiere Pro for Mac. If that's true, then it's RIDICULOUS, because you can get After Effects and Photoshop for a Mac, so it would make sense to have Premiere Pro and Encore DVD as well, but Apple is content with FCP and DVD Studio Pro. Nothing against FCP & DVD Studio Pro but I'm comfortable and even happy with Premiere Pro, I just LOATHE Windows. But that's my challenge. Maybe if I just suck it up and use FCP I'd stop crying about it. Some day. (in reply to Jrwill228) |

Rumors abound that Adobe is going to release a new version of Premier Pro for the Mac in 2007. Don't know if it is true. No official word from Adobe. Also don't know if it will be a Universal app or just for the Intel Macs. Only time will tell on all accounts. john _____________________________ J2D:184 JB 1-38 JBHD 1-20 ETK 1-10 MDE 1-20 SW 1-10 VT 1-3 SFX 1-2 ST 1-21 BT 1-2 JD 1-52 DJTV S1 PTK 1 DJ 2.0 Swigglez (in reply to andyowen) |

John . . . for what you get with the studio bundle it is an AMAZING value (FCP alone used to be close to that amount) and if you have FCE already you should be able to upgrade to FCS for cheaper try calling Apple sales see about the upgrade pricing < Message edited by David Slater -- 11/4/2006 11:49:18 PM > _____________________________ DAVE (in reply to andyowen) |

John, if that rumors true, I could jump for joy...however, you followed it up by bringing me back to the sad reality that is becoming the bane of my co-platform existence: the intel Macs. While not a bad idea...they're still a bad idea. I understand why they did it...I just don't want one. I'm a stubborn fool...but why stoop to windows problems on a mac? It might make life easier to just switch to being a fcp user...say it ain't so... Sorry, that was mostly me whining under my breath, but since it was all typed you couldn't tell. Ignore. Let's just say, I'd love to see Premiere Pro for the OSX platform. (in reply to David Slater) |

Yeah man! That's what I'm talking about! The whole Adobe Production suite on OSX would be a freakin' dream! I love going from Premiere to AE back to Premiere then into Encore DVD and into Photoshop to edit my menus then back to Encore DVD and onto disc. It's bad. Right now it's LITERALLY bad, because I'm doing it on a Dell...which thus far (knock wood) has served me fine, but I have a whole tech department maintaining me (along with 1200 other computers in the school district I work for).

John, I've been using 6.5 since it was release, and I still using it just like you I'm waiting for an update, and also after speaking with Graham in NAB NY, I'll probably move to FC Express HD (more affordable for me) but if you have any other question about 6.5 I may be able to help, dell free to e-mail me. BTW in the time lime you can control the opasity with the rubber band Attachment (1)
