I decided to make this a different thread as it goes beyond "family video" themes. I would love to see a series of visual (JuiceDrops or JumpBacks) and audio elements for use in childrens programming. I work with an Int'l childrens mission and do both promos with child themes aimed at an adult audience AND material FOR a child audience. In other words, material of children for adult audience and a wide variety of exciting themes of interest for a child audience. Both approaches could be considered in creating a child themed DJ package. Audio example: off-camera audio clips with commonly used group/individual children response phrases like "yes", "no", "yeah", "horay", "oooo", "wow", "look out!", counting (up and down), etc.. Can be used in kids shows, puppet video clips, toy/games product commercials, and so on. visual examples can be used in juice drops or jumpbacks. Examples: kids camp themes, explorer/adventure/archeologist/spy themes, playing group games like tag/hide & seek, swinging from rope into pond, climbing, running, bunkbeds in cabin, tents, classroom scene, and the list goes on. Pictures can also include negative influences on children as the vast majority of stock images only focus on good looking kids smiling and having fun. Perhaps include a few images reflecting feelings of loneliness, sadness, rejection, etc.. This doesn't require full illustrations of specific illustrations w/limited useage. As an illustrator, I need to make all my illustrations be relevant to a wide cultural range from use in Russia/Central Asia to countries in western Europe. To do this I focus more on the expression and body language of a child to show anger (for example) than on the particular action, situation. As a JuiceDrop, the image allows for including the child characters in the picture or just making use of the bg image. I've already seen huge potential with the naturalcuts "juicedrops", using the layers within a video as fly-through motion graphics and incorporating a puppet in the scene. Example: using an explorer (Indiana Jones type) puppet entering jungle or cave (NaturalCuts JuiceDrop) searching for a treasure or clues. The characters (human or puppets) are shot against a green screen. There you go! I have more ideas on this theme but better stop for now since this is my first post in the forums and don't want to wear out my welcome from the start. Been a DJ user for some time but have only been a "lurker" on the forum. ~ Tim European Media & Publications Dept. CEF European Regional Office |

Hey Tim, welcome to the forums. We have a great bunch of pros here who are willing to help you with anything they can. And...if you hang around for a little while...you'll be as addicted as the rest of us. I think you have some great ideas for kids. I could use a lot of them in our church's nursery, youth and teens departments. Hope DJ picks up on some of them. Also, glad for put a link in the other forum currently discussing this very topic. I love the idea....I know I could make good use of such products in our kids' service at church (hey, I could even get the church to pay for them!) Welcome, Tim. Look forward to hearing more from you! _____________________________ Karen Nashville, TN (in reply to illustratedWORD) |
