Hi Folks; I'm working on a project that I shot in widescreen but now would like to change to standard letterbox so I can easily incorporate Juice elements without distortion. I recall seeing an option in Vegas that would allow me to switch from 16-9, widescreen, letterbox etc. I thought the option was a drop down box in the screen screen aspect feature ( the one that allows you to change the dimensions of the particular track you're working on) but now when I click it it only gives me a default and one I saved option instead of the 16-9, standard etc option. Any suggestions on how I can do this, or do I have to render it out in something like Quicktime? If this is too confusing let me know and I'll post screen shots. I'm using Vegas 6 and there is an option in the Event Pan/Crop tool of each clip there is a preset that has the 4:3 or the 16:9 presets. You'll just have to do it to each clip however. The other option if I recall is just to set your preferences to have the finial render as whatever you'd like it to be. I don't really know how well this would work, but it's worth a try.

Digital Juice stuff looks fine widescreen for the most part. If you bring in ws footage, use Event/Pan crop on the DJ stuff to make them work. Open Event Pan/Crop on the DJ stuff, right click in the workspace, and choose Match Output aspect. You can then reframe to taste to fit. The Juicer 2 element mode lets you render to DJ material to other resolutions, too. -- JPF _____________________________ Sony Vegas Certified Trainer http://www.jeffreypfisher.com (in reply to leebo) |

can you explain that again? What part is done in Juicer and what part is done in the editing application?

I agree that resizing the DJ footage is your best bet. The stuff from DJ is so large that I always am able to make it widescreen with no problem. I don't even mess with the Juicer, it all works fine in Vegas. gsully, you're really able to get to the same place via two different roads on this one. You could resize the DJ footage in the juicer, or you could resize it in Vegas. It's all just a matter of what works best for you. If he had wanted to resize the original footage however that would have to be done in Vegas. (in reply to gsully) |
