I just discovered a great way to easily loop a jumpback in apple's motion. in the past I have always placed my jumpbacks back to back in the timeline to loop them unless i'm in vegas where you can simply click the right hand of the file in the timeline and drag it out. I just found out how to do the same in Motion. For those Apple Motion users out there here's how to do it.... Create a new file...let's say 600 frames long. Render out a jumpback from the juicer...any JB will do as they all loop. From the library in Motion, find your newly juiced jumpback and drag it to the canvas. You will need to view the media browser so if it is not showing, click on the window menu and select "Media" to bring the media browser into view. Click on your jumpback listed that you placed in the canvas in the media window. In the inspector window click on the "Media" tab. Click on the "End Condition" drop down box and select "loop" Now the cool part.... In the timeline click on the right hand edge of the jumpback and simply drag it out to say 600 frames. No placing additional files, the single file will just loop. If anyone knows how to do this in FCP PLEASE let me know. Hope this helped. If it is confusing and would like to me to create a PDF with screen shots let me know and i'll do it this weekend. sorry, was in a bit of a hurry to write it down. I just thought this was the coolest thing and not documented well. Regards Doawah

I have reset the forums uploads type and filesize to the following types: gif/txt/jpg/psd/pdf/mov (and PPT on the PowerPoint forums) Let me know if you still have trouble.

You can also do something similar in afterfx when you go to "Interpet Footage" you can set how many times you want a clip to loop and then do as you describe in Motion.

It's simple things like this that just save so much time once you know about it.

Dont worry about Dave, he had a fever today and wasnt quite with it... This morning all JumpBacks in development were turned into Toolkits and this afternoon back to JumpBack volumes. Not sure if a good strong perscription will make tomorrow better or not

Graham, Thanks for the pdf regarding looping Jumpbacks in Motion. It was just what I was looking for in a July 4th production I'm working on. While I'm a ongtime user of DJ products, I have never logged into the forums before. Believe it or not, I found your tutorialin a general Google search for "using Digital Juice jumpbacks with FCP Motion." It was the first hit. Gary Wendel Northern Image MultiMedia
