Hi Guys - I am a new member and just rc'd my first Digital Juice product. My NLE system is Liquid 7.1 - my problem is when I import animated background from ETK 1 (after processing from Juice 2) I get a black image only - I note this has been reported before in the forum and I have tried to follow the fix's from the replys. I have processed the animation(s) as follows: Settings: Lower Even, Speed Very Slow FPS 25 (for PAL) Elemenet Mode - unchecked Video Compression - Full Frames (Unchecked) Output: AVI Compression Type Ecport Size - PAL 720 X 576 - 16.9 Aspect Ratio Your help would be appreciated - Also could you please advise what version of Quicktime works as I note from this forum and the Avid Liquid Forum that Liquid users are experiencing problems with Quicktime - the current version of Quicktine is 7.1.5. ???? Also - I note that after importing into liquid the aspect ratio is 4.3 not 16.9 regards - Edward |

Hi Ed, Welcome to DJ forums.... I'm not a Liquid user myself but I'm sure someone will be able to help you soon. Perhaps Eric can pop by and give you some advice... Jose (in reply to bosscat1) |

Before we look at this being a Liquid problem, pleaes try to open the avi file created by the juicer. If this puppy is incorrect, we can focus on Quicktime or the juicer. Please post back. _____________________________ Jim "It is fun doing the impossible" Quote from Walt Disney (in reply to mediatvguy) |

Hi Jim - I think I may have resolved the problem as follows: Juicer 2 Output - Movie Settings: Frame Rate: 25 FPS Compression type: Animations Key Frames: All Compression Depth: Millions of Colors Quality: Best Size: PAL 720 X 576 - 16.9 Settings tab: Speed: Very Slow Fields: Lower (even) Output: Save as: Image Sequence Format: PNG Import into Avid Liquid as follows: Import media - check autodetect animations and autodetect framerate - Highlight first PNG frame file and click open The above seems to work - As I am new to Digitaljice I would appreciate any comments on the above as the best method to adopt. regards - Ed (in reply to JoeyD) |

Creating an output sequence is an alternative. I'd rather stick to the subject at hand and not get into alpha channels yet. I still would like to know if the AVI file from the juicer is viewable outside of Liquid. Can you play it inside of Quicktime? _____________________________ Jim "It is fun doing the impossible" Quote from Walt Disney (in reply to bosscat1) |

Jim - I played an AVI file in Quicktime and the screen view is black. I processed an animation as outlined in my opening post. Is this what you asked me to do ? Avid users of Digital Juice raised this problem in the Avid Liquid Forum and from what I have read the conclusion is to process output: image sequence, format: PNG (not AVI) It may be I am doing something wrong by not being succesful with the AVI format ? Please adivse - thanks - Ed (in reply to windhamjim) |

Since the juicer rendered out a black file, the problem is with quick time/juicer, not Liquid. You have discovered a work around. I suggest you ask for "Juicer Tech Support" to get quicktime and Juicer working together. Good Luck Ed. _____________________________ Jim "It is fun doing the impossible" Quote from Walt Disney (in reply to bosscat1) |
