Hey guys,

I am in need of a php/mysql mailing list software solution to install on my server so I can send out newsletters much like how Digital Juice sends out.  Thought I would ask if anyone had any recommendations?

Digital Juice - would you mind sharing how you send out your mailing list newsletters.  I am looking to do the exact same thing with one of my websites and thought perhaps you use one of the available softwares out there.  Would love to get any tips!  Thanks.

Not sure if this will help, but I use 1and1.com and in their package, they offer a service for free for what you want to do.   www.1and1.com.

I use Mailman ( http://www.list.org/ ) here at the office and it's available both for us in-house as well as our many clients who spam, I mean "communicate" with their clients.  And while I realize you specifically asked for a PHP/MySQL solution, Mailman isn't either of those.  It works for us.

I use mailchimp.com.  They have the ability to add code to your site for people to opt in and opt out of newsletters.  You can send full .html emails including graphics.  It works really well and is super cheap.  You buy credits anywhere from $.005 per email up to $.03 per email depending on how many credits you purchase at a time.

If they are going to be opting in from now on, I would highly recommend www.aweber.com that has the best delivery rate in the
industry. You can also send html messages like the ones Digital Juice sends. The reason why several marketers and ecommerce companies use aweber is because you don't have to host from your own database. Everything goes through aweber who maintains relationships with all the ISP's to ensure your deliverability. They have simple copy and paste javascript/html so people can just opt-in at your website and aweber takes care of the rest.

If you are going to be gathering your current client emails (aweber leads can be imported, but they have to re-opt in), then I would
recommend groupmail by infacta. You can download a free trial at www.infacta.com.

Alot of smart marketers in the direct sales industry use infacta/groupmail if they are importing leads. If you end up using it, I have a free ebook on how to use.
No sales pitches in the ebook, I just made it because I didn't want to walk people through it over and over.

Then again, if they are going to your website to sign up for a newsletter, you should seriously consider aweber. Ask fellow Juice Ken Calhoun who
has a huge mailing list for his business. Definitely one of the best investments an ecommerce business can make so their email doesn't end up in the
filtered mail.

On a side note, it's very impressive how DJ emails always land in my inbox:)
