Hey guys. I need an easy solution for placing black foamcore flags with my lights. Right now I have to use extra lightstands to hook the foamcore to, but rather than all that, I'd like to just have some sort of adjustable arm that can attach to the lightstand that the light I am flagging is on. And this adjustable arm should have some sort of clip at the end so I can clip the foamcore to it. An example of what I am looking for is below: This is Lowel's Flex-Fit Arm, but this arm only connects to the Tota and Omni line of lights. I want basically this kind of setup, except I want to be able to connect it straight to the lightstand pole. Anyone have any suggestions on a product that can do this for me? I am looking at buying from B&H and I see this: This seems like it would work but the extension arm of this seems a bit short, considering I will be using this one softbox lights, etc. But this is the basic concept I am looking for. Any guidance on what I should be looking to purchase to achieve this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a ton. _____________________________ |: JBHD: 10, 12 |: JB: 35 |: Stacks: 7, 18 |: BackTracks: 1 & 2 |: ETK: 6 |: MDE: 001 |: JD: 49 |: DJTV: All Season 1 |

Get some clamps at your local mega home improvement store and clamp them to whatever you want. Thats a cheap easy way that works.

Hey Matt... I've tried using the standard 2-3" clamps to clamp foamcore to lightstands, but maybe I'm not doing it right... but the clamp doesn't stay snug on the lightstand pole. Maybe the clamp is too big? Perhaps I'm doing it the "Three Stooges" way. What's the best method for putting up a foamcore flag with a lightstand and clamp?

If its something light you can use the spring type clamps but if its something heavy or its windy I like to you these hand screw clamps they're meant for wood working (a hobby of mine). they take a few seconds to put on but once you got them tight they ain't going nowhere no mater what. I slide the stand up the middle between the screws and put whatever I'm mounting on the clamp side. snug it down and its stayin put. a few c-stands is a big help to any kit but before I got them I would use cheap walmart tripods to clamp flags, reflectors and such to. If i saw an old tripod at a yard sale for a couple bucks I pick it up. now I've got a crate of old tripods I don't really use any more much but if I run out of light stands and c-stands I can always grab one. I also keep a couple mic stands in the van they work well with my handscreww clamps
