Can anyone offer some creative suggestions for highlighting a series of images in a video sequence?  One portion of my DVD about the people of Nicaragua highlights the poor villages and the people who live there.  I have some good images of the villages and housing - my sequence is about 30 seconds long.  I want to hightlight as many images as possible to really tell the story in such a short time.

Thanks!

You can do either a overlay (1 video, 2 Images, 3 ETK Overlay)
or you can play the video and fade in and out small images on top of the video.
I hope that helps.

You can put a wide shot of the village in the Background, blurring it. (add B&W for added effect) On top, you can add the closeups of the people -- maybe 4 of them in full focus with a border around them (animated frames if you want to JUICE IT). Then take the top pictures off and bring the village into focus (and into full color if you did the B&W effect). You can add text either before the rack focus or after at the very end for emphasis on a message.

Good luck,
Jen

It depends on how you are editing the spot. Between the music, mood, and overall feeling. Is it fast paced or slow, do you want a simple look or can it be many images composited? If you are using Final Cut Pro, Nattress has a good Generator called G-Strip (I think it is) where you can put up to like 10 clips in and it makes a bar of video that goes across the screen. You can play with how fast it goes and how big it is and if it goes horizontal or vertical. It is a nice tool from what I have seen and recommend it if you are using Final Cut.
