Flip4Mac has NOTHING to do with Microsoft. I have used Flip4Mac for years and never have had any issues with it and it has not put an evil curse on my 5 Macs. I was once an Apple bigot also. Not wanting to soil my hands with anything PC or Microsoft. I remember the "good-ole-days" when I was in book publishing in the Dark Ages of the first years of desktop publishing when everything was done on an 086 Intel machine and windows 2.0 was all the rage. It was TONS of fun trying to convert Microsoft Word files into MacWrite so we could typeset them. Those were the heady days of MacLink Plus and the life-saver of a conversion program it was. That being said, not even the translations from PC to Mac worked flawlessly. I can't even begin to remember the countless hours of cleaning-up stray PC characters that would not disappear in file conversions.
Get Flip4Mac it will allow WMV files to be played THROUGH QuickTime and, no, it will not set your Mac on a path to go straight to hell once it finally gives up the last circuit and goes to that great warehouse in the sky.

The best revenge is overwhelming success

Here is a video that I made using an R2G template for Vegas, and Vegas Pro 11. You might notice that I also used the Vegas multi-camera feature, makes m/c editing really easy.

RTG template video

Can't see too many people using the forums. Being very limited financially I use Sony Movie Maker, it has big limitations with only 4 timelines I can use. I've found I can render up to 3 times before the quality becomes bad (MPEG II)so I can get a half dozen elements into a vid.

I have made a lot of vids/slideshows using Digital Juice elements. Here are a few. I don't get any feedback from my vids. I think they are good but I wouldn't really know as no one ever comments. I feel I could do better but just can't afford Vegas pro, definately can't afford Adobe After Effects so am stuck just doing what I can do.
Hard Core Rockography
Electric Lightbulb Orchestra
The Wood Nymphs
The Out of Towners
Tongarra Whitsundays Sailing
Spank Me Whitsundays Sailing
Mandrake Whitsundays Sailing

Just about everything I put on you tube gets a copyright claim put on it, usually by BFM digital. To date I have had over 100 of em. I go to the trouble of explaining that I bought the music, have a licensing agreement and the copyright claim is always and in every case released.

As explained I am very restricted creatively by finances. Just can't buy everything that is needed and apart from a flip mino I don't own a video camera. I guess the above links show what you can do with very little and with great restrictions. In my mind I can see what I could do with unlimited timelines and with the digital juice products and I would dearly love to be able to do it but just can't get there.

I've approached numerous tourism businesses and government departments here in Queensland trying to sell my services but am usually ignored and nobody wants to pay to have vids made. None of them understand the time it takes to put a vid together. So I just make them for my own use and to keep myself busy.

Living in Australia tacks on over $100 to most orders I've placed with digital juice, the downloadable products are good but I would much rather packaged copies. Last time I bought downloadable products I had to buy $50 worth of download from my internet providor to get the products. I guess that works out cheaper than the freight from America by about half.

Nothings ever easy is it?

It would be great if digital juice and sony were to sponsor me and give me a range of products to use creatively. I don't see too many people putting vids together just using digital elements. Virtual bands, music clips are all achievable and it is possible to make silhouette musicians appear to be playing the music you are listening to. Not perfectly but if you aren't a musician, you wouldn't know.

Since I ended up using so many DJ products with Sony Vegas to create this video I thought I would post it.

DJ Products Used.
Ready to Go Collection 8
Motion Designer Silhouettes
Editors toolkit 1 (pro 146 - tek TV)

For the green screen I shot with the dj Butterfly frame on 2 dj c-stands with the chroma background.

Here is the link:

Digital Juice is quickly becoming my production partner. I just got the orbit dolly and can't wait to use it. Let me know what you think about the vid

thanks

The audio is a little hot for my tastes. But excellent lighting, key, and graphics. Real good key actually. I'm looking through her hair and no artifacts. Would be nice to see a behind the scenes shot of your studio set-up or "making of..." would be a great tutorial on the juice production gear.
