I'm a Sony Vegas user and I love that program but I'd like to expand the amount of NLEs I'm able to work with so I'd like to get a quick overview of the differences between Adobe Premiere and Vegas. How easy is Premiere to use/how does the interface differ from that of Vegas, can it do anything that Vegas can't and how widespread is it in the proffesional world? Thanks in advance. |

I love Premiere's interface...everything links together (just like AE, Encore, Audition, and SB). I recently switched to FCP, but still use Premiere for old projects. Premiere is pretty easy to use, but equally VERY powerful. As far as I know, Premiere is not used as much as Avid and FCP in the professional world. A good friend of mine who produces all of Ang Lee's movies (Tim Squyres) edits the film footage on his MacBook Pro in his house connected to a professional 24" widescreen monitor and works off an external hard drive with all of the low resolution files on it. He works in Avid and always has since it came out (originally on Macs). So Avid as I've seen, Avid is definitely the solution for professionals, along with FCP. As for Premiere, I know of some features edited on it, but most people prefer Mac's for editing films for some reason. Hope that helps you out. _____________________________ Film Editor, Videographer, Motion Graphics Designer, and Producer JUST UPDATED!! http://www.SeaLightEntertainment.com http://www.JimBreuer.com Juice: 300+ (in reply to matjusm) |
