Good find, bro! Wonder where our special from SFX II is? Should I order now? Should I wait? It only says "Deal of the Day"! What to do!?!?!?

Dave said the coupon from June/July timeframe wouldn't be for SFX 3 it would be for something else. Unless he's changed his mind since then. Rick (in reply to flascrnwrtr) |

Very nice Jose. Now can you find the DOTD for today and the final word on the coupon?

I can answer the deal question. DOTD is SFX 3 for 99 with no purchase required to get this deal. As of tomorrow, a purchase will be required to get this price.

Glad you like the promo Marc! It was completely a team effort: - Perry did the Set Design, Camerawork & Lighting (fantastic lighting, don't you think?) with the help of Charlie Burket - Perry & Rusty Wolfe (our promotions producer) collaborated on the set to get just the shots that Rusty needed for the edit (both camera & talent direction) - Rusty & I collaborated on writing & refining the script - Brent Milby created all the 3D box animations, text elements and video example segments - Rusty Wolfe did the edit & established the style and pace - Michael "Maverick" Mavrikios gets mad credit for doing the full sound design & audio mix on the promo (he is also the man behind creating SFX3) Even this is an oversimplification of the process... I'm sure these guys all did more than what I've listed here (When the lights pop on in sequence at the beginning as I walk in Perry is calling out commands and Charlie & Rusty are hiding behind the wall panels throwing switches to turn the lights on and blasting the fog machine. Rusty and Othon both repeatedly swabbed the floor with a wet mop to keep it shiny for the opening wide shot) & others who are not listed here we're also involved (Eric did the encoding & file prep, for instance) -- but I wanted to at least acknowledge that it tales a talented team to make cool promos like this. I'm really pleased with everyone's work. These are definitely some talented people! -- oh yeah, the product is awesome too!!! ;-) ~cp < Message edited by Chuck Peters -- 10/23/2007 11:33:27 AM > (in reply to mptribe) |

I bought without even listening to any samples or the promo. Just finished watching the promo and listening to a few samples now. Excellent product. Excellent offer. You'd have to be brain dead to pass on this deal.

Chuck, You guys still manually flip lights on this type of thing! I'm surprised that you don't have a computer to control all that. But thanks again for the explaination. I hope I didn't sound like I though you were the only one to work on the promo, it's just that you were the one that was on camera. You guys are awesome and hopefully we'll get to meet quite a few of you at JuiceFest! _____________________________ Marc (in reply to The Professor) |

I was gonna grab it as soon as I saw it (I actually beat Jose - I check every day about every ten minutes until I see the deal) but elected to keep silent until I saw if there were any additional deals. I am now just waiting for a deal on SFX 1 to complete my SFX collection (what can I say - I'm a late adopter sometimes). Looks like really good stuff and I can't wait to start using some of this stuff. _____________________________ DJ Counts (Hundreds+) "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." - Aristotle My Juice: http://video.birdcat.com/djlist.txt (in reply to mptribe) |

That promo is amazing! I have to watch it again in slow motion to really see the effects now that I have watched it once. It no doubt makes me want to buy the product, which is the idea behind a product promo! Great job as always and very inspirational!

Well, just got back from a long weekend shooting at the races and find SFX3 - wow - I thought DH said that wouldn't be out till Q1 of 08. Since it's almost 11 pm, and this deal ends at midnight, I rush to see the promo and get my order in on time. Well, what a great surprise. As I said in the DJTV review - SOLD!!! Ya, the SFX3 is neat, but, wow, what an awesome video. The dramatic lighting was extremely effective for this promo. Chuck's delivery was impeccable and the piece had some of the best production values of any DJTV episode. Blew me away guys - absolutely GREAT! Now, the SFX3 - sure - they're great sounds - but there are many great sounds available. The quality should be awesome (based on the specs) and the size of the library is pretty wild. However, you had me when you said that some match the HD JumpBacks. Over-sell happened when I heard they match the MDEs, but I notice you didn't dare do a voice over during the "Full Throttle Motor Sports" graphic for fear I'd be there to pick it up in person in less than two hours from New Hampshire. So, OK, ya got me - my order's in - even paid for faster delivery than I normally use - and now I have my nose pressed against the window, watching for the deliver truck. Damn you Chuck - I should be working now, not hyper-ventilating. ![]() ![]() < Message edited by wizard -- 10/24/2007 3:17:22 AM > _____________________________ Pops (in reply to Eric Hartmann) |

That promo was so good I downloaded it for a full screen view, and I'm adding it to my DJTV library of models. The lighting was great, the sound was great, but I couldn't get over the way you used camera angles to help focus attention on sound. Zooming in on Chuck recording the VO at different scales was perfect. You guys REALLY thought that through. Very inspiring. I"m with Pops (again) in that you had me when you told me about having sounds for JBHD 1-20, and MDE 11-20. The weather sounds were another hook for me, and previewing the samples whet my whistle for the rest of the collection. I ordered it yesterday and can hardly wait for it to get here. You did a great job on prepping and promoting SFXIII. _____________________________ - Stephen System specs- Dual Quad Xeon 2.33 GHz; 16 Gb RAM, 500 Gb system drive, 650 Gb edit drive, 3 Tb RAID 3 video source files drive, nVidia Quadro FX4500; Win 7 64-bit; Adobe CS5 Production premium; Avid Media Composer 5; Cineform Neo 4K (in reply to Michael Mavrikios) |

I don't recall, but didn't SFX I & II come with the cardboard corners in the packaging. I can't remember if they were in all the packaging or just the small wallet design like the mix and match products. In either case, SFX III does NOT have cardboard corners. I just got mine.

Michael MVRK, I used to work in radio so I deeply appreciate the value of sound to create images, moods and play with emotions. This promo for Sound FX III is a sound textbook masterpiece in the way you wove together the sounds, background music, VO, etc - and matched and integrated them to the video guys' art: I would even go so far as to say this Promo could be compared to a beautiful symphony which, while maintaining its central theme, highlights various instruments and themes: Sound rings through in image, light, color, voice, music, Sfx, camera angles, movement.... And that is what is especially nice about this Promo: in it Sound IS Queen. In most image-centered productions, sound has a humbler, although essential role; in this Promo, Sound is front and center! And you and your team did a superb job in highlighting her essential contributions and beauties. However, I must confess. I ordered Sound Fx III first; I was not preoccupied - I just knew that whatever DJ's sound man and sound team put together had to be of top quality; only later have I had time to go back to see the promo - several times - and relisten to it - just for its sheer aesthetic value. Congratulations to you and the team for these capolavori ! _____________________________ 75% Juiced (in reply to dajuiceguy) |
