I think the new case would work great. For things like JD's You could label the side 1-30 , 30-60 etc. I have two full six foot shelves and two half filled 2.5 ft. shelves. It'd save me alot of space.

I like the look and agree with others on wanting to see more pictures.  Would be nice to have a place to place a label on the spine, so you don't have to stick on a label or use a metalic colored marker to write on it.  But the initial description sounds good.  Is the size of it about the same as the Videotraxx and Backtraxx boxes or smaller?  I don't have one handy to check sizes.

What would be even better would be to have a wallet which is branded for each DJ product line.

For example:

1 for Swipes with Swipes logo and lettering on the spine & front;
1 for MDEs with MDE logo and lettering on the spine & front;

etc etc you get the drift.

Now that would look the bomb on a shelf and as each product line gets too big for one wallet, you could just purchase a 2nd and 3rd and so on!

The only problem there is it would cost more to produce all of them and keep them in inventory, but that would be nice.  Maybe they could make a nice set of stickers that you could do that with.  Something that wouldn't peel off easily and would still look good.

Here's a pic of the inside. They are the pretty much the same size as the backtraxx and videotraxx cases.

Matt, thanks so much for the photo.....  Looks like the solution to some of the packing problems ....  Very nice .... ordering mine NOW!

However, I do agree with Mark and Marc- it would great to have one for the various product lines - and if that is tooo expensive for DJ to produce - could a plastic sleeve be added on the spine and front - where we could put a contents lists .... this would keep the DJ2GO looking clean, orderly and professional and enable us to find what we need quicker....

Again thanks DJ for finding a workable solution!!!

Maybe you could have a DJ "value" wallet and a DJ "premium" wallet with stitched in coloured product logos & text.

Would it be expensive?  Probably!
Would people buy it?  Absolutely!
Do I sound like Simon Cowell asking questions and then answering them myself?  Probably

I for one will be buying several.  I AM hoping I can duplicate my Juice products onto DVD-R to take with as I would rather not remove my DJ discs from my office or from their rightful homes in the beautiful (if not controversial) DJ packaging.

Many of DJ products will have to be backed up to Dual Layer discs, just keep that in mind.  It will take longer (slower burn rates) and cost more (roughly $1.40 per disc).

Thanks Marc, good info and advice.  It's an important point to keep in mind when deciding which products one wants to back up?

For those that carry their collection to different locations, these should be a good seller. But, they remind me of the BackTraxx binders. I still have the original boxed units of both volumes. When they came out with the new cases, I purchased them, but they don't fit on my shelves and were a hassle to me, so I still use the original cases. It's easier and quicker for me to find what I need.

But, this is just my opinion, and I only use my Juice here in my studio. I'm sure they'll sell a ton of them, and maybe cut down on the complaints. I may even have to get one later on, just to add to my collection, but not to use.

Thanks for the heads up, Marc. A long and arduous task but well worth it to ensure my (growing) DJ collection will remain servicable for many years to come. And thanks for the nod, Elen.

On a side note: Elen, your avatar is beginning to creep me out... reminds me of the movie of 4 Stephen King short stories, Cat's Eye... SPOOKY! ;>

I know what you mean Shaun - that's the power of editing.  If you saw the pre-edited photo you would see that this cat has the sweetest expression in BOTH eyes.  The editing made her look errie, I definitely agree.  I put it up as my avatar since my Halloween one just didn't cut the mustard for me, so now you have "Faithful"'s eye!

Just got JD 69: multiCULTURAL. It had the rubber insert Dave mentioned on this thread. I'm happy to report that (through shipping) the disc slot survived with NO tearing.

I dont care what DJ ships in, if it ships in a white memorex piece of paper sleve then so be it as long as I get the DVD in tact and my computer can read it.  I wont lie that the larger packaging looks beter on the shelf but come on, its about the micro lines on the back of the disk that thae lazer reads and that is all that maters.  They could just ship a disk if it wouldnt get scratched and i would be happy.  its not about  whats on the outside its about the inside.
and thats my $.02

With much urging by Matt, DH has decided to ship all future products in this case.

I was a big fan of the new 'cardboard' packages for Jumpbacks, ETKs, MDEs, and whatnot when I first started buying Juice in mass doses. I soon found, though that the little cardboard inserts that sit below the discs in the pockets begin to fall out immediately, and the beautifully-printed labels on the packages begin to bubble and warp.

But on the topic of transportability of Juice:

I dunno; maybe I'm a Juice-glutton, but I just had to get a 200-disc holder in order to transport my Juice, and it only carried my Jumpbacks SD & HD, ETKs, and Swipes. I'm going to need another one if ever I find I'll need to carry audio.

An issue I found in the old polls was a question whether or not it'd be worthwhile (or possible, even) to store the Juice catalog (and the media from the discs) on an external Hard Drive that could then be more easily transported than o so many discs.

Anybody know definitively if this could work? I'd have no problems investing in a 1TB portable drive if it could reliably port around all my DJ materials and be linked up to a Juicer 3 at any computer I perched at.

Sorry--- this is in response to a conversation branch far above where it was being discussed whether it's worthwhile to make a "home" vs. "office" copy of the Juice discs.

I think I tried that before, with less than savory results---- beyond the expected horrendous burn times.

The challenge here being that-- unless my memory's tweaked-- the copied discs wouldn't work with the Juicer software.

If you make a batch list of Juice assets in Juicer, and Render All, I seem to recall that it won't recognize copies of discs; Juicer will only recognize the original discs as holding the assets.

If you want to bypass the Juicer software or just use it to decide on assets, and then just pull of the discs, that'll work,
it's just a little more time-consuming.

IIRC Juicer uses the volume name of the DVDs to identify which disc you have put in.  As long as you duplicate the disc with the same volume name, it should work just like the original.  I had to backup one of my discs as I had um, lets just say an accident* with the original which left it badly scratched...the copy works fine.

Well then. That there's quite a little bit of awesome, and might just save half my salary in chiropractic fees, luggin' around my whole Juice collection near-everywhere I go.

Juice: great content, but purty darn heavy in a lump-sum group.

If you are just wanting to have a handful of juice available on the move without lugging the discs around, using ISOs with some software that can mount them as a virtual drive works a treat but, it is limited and not really practical for the entire juice library.

It has been discussed on here a lot in the past and it should be fairly easy to dig up some of the old threads using the Forum search option if you are interested.  Like i said, it's not a brilliant work around but, it's better than nothing

Sorry Marc,

Coal ('specially high sulfer coal) is not something I use any more.
I've gone GREEN I have (no green screen pun intended), I now
give out Candy Coal. <grin>

Would you prefer cinnamon or black pepper flavor?
