Just got my copy of ETK2 and it' s my first one... I' ve been trying all night yesterday to make it work on Pinnacle Studio v8.1 but can' t seem to make it work . I' m just a newbie in video editing but I really want to learn just like a pro and I think your products are one of the best out there. So, any tips would be very much appreciated.

Unfortunately, Pinnacle Studio will only import clips that are encoded with it' s codec which doesn' t support alpha channels. If you are looking to get into video editing, you might want to take a look some of the following.. Vegas Video: http://www.sonicfoundry.com/Products/showproduct.asp?PID=808 Premiere: http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/main.html AfterEffects: http://www.adobe.com/products/aftereffects/ XpressDV: http://www.avid.com/products/xpressdv/ (in reply to exist) |

Also check out www.ulead.com for some low cost editing solutions. I' m guessing Pinnacle Studio 8 would be able to import the full screen backgrounds in Editor' s Toolkit but not the lower thirds and overlays.. I heard Avid was releasing a cheap or free version of XpressDV.. anyone know the limitations of this software. Support Alpha Channels? (in reply to ianr) |

Thanks for telling me something about Pinnacle. Actually, I use it because i think it' s one of the easiest. Anyway, I have a demo copy of Adobe Premiere, I think I' ll install that and see what it can do. A friend told me before that it' s only for " professionals" so I didn' t dare to touch it since I' m just starting. How about you, what do you use?

Hi, First of all I want to say, great job on the forum guys.. great idea I use premiere to edit and remember when I first booted it up and how scary it looked.. its not as bad as you think and after half an hour you can be thowing clips around like no ones business. I havent got ETK2 yet, but have 1, and hope to get 2 soon. The clips are easy to use once you know what transparancies ect to apply. So basicaly just install the premiere demo, play around and have fun :) (in reply to exist) |
