I need to import a few layers of a juice drop into the timeline of FCP. The juicer said the layers were on the discs (JD 49 signboards) but I don't see them when I browse the disc. Can I export from photoshop and then import into the timeline of FCP? I did this by accident once before when I got my first drop and was a newbie editor. I was messing with some animation. I just can't remember how to do it or cant find the info.

The Juicer doesn't export layers, only flattened graphics. You'll have to locate the PSD file on the original DVDs to access the layers. I don't use FCP, but some NLEs will convert the file into a proprietary file format so you don't have to have the original DVD in the drive all the time, but it is just a good idea to copy the PSD to your hard drive before using it. Hard drives work faster than DVD drives.

FCP will mount the DVD and require it to stay in the drive if you don't copy the file to the heard drive first, and then open THAT file, just like audio tracks.
