I ran across this problem with the double alpha Swipes today in Avid XPress Pro in an unusual situation. My background video is a Jumpback and there are two layers with alpha channels that I was going to use the Swipe on. I applied the matte as usual (above the B video with the Matte Key filter), but the A video remained when it should be disappearing while the B video is coming on. Maybe because the A video already had its own alpha is why the Matte Key didn't work the same way. I scooted everything up one layer and applied the matte to the A video too, and it solved the problem.

we actually have Triple Alpha Wipes in R&D but they probably work differently than you would imagine. It is part of something we are calling Editor's Toolkit Construction Sets internally.... but i've said too much already.

I think DH goes to India so he can dribble this stuff out without fear of someone kidnapping him and making him spill the beans... Imagine that, a business owner going to India NOT to be kidnapped... PS. I LOVE India. Visited the Tamil coast for a doc 1 year after the tsunami. Amazing people. (in reply to mptribe) |
