To all Grass Valley/Canopus EDIUS 3.0 & above users,

To retain the Digital Juice's Alpha Channel in Juicer3, go to Format: change it to avi, then click Format Options: choose Canopus Lossless in the Video Compression.

Note: the video files in this setting is a bit bigger than your normal avi video format.

What do you mean by "not work"? The Juicer won't render to Canopus Lossless? Edius won't import? Alphas not working?

Welcome to the forums - I hope vshing is still around to give us a hand!

What i mean is when i rendered to Canopus Lossless I do not get the alpha channels.  The only way i get the alpha channels is when i use the raw files from the DVD and one reason i bought this was to be able to change the color and look with the juicer.

Ex.  I just bought Editors Toolkit 10.  I am using 241 Fullscreen wipe.  I tried several different outputs starting with the ones DJ TV recommends.  I even used the canopus lossless.  What happens is when i insert the 241 fullscreen wipe above both clips in the timeline i do not see any of the underlying video clips beneath the wipe.  In fact when i render the wipe it looks different from what the actual wipe is supposed to be.   The true wipe has a lot of blue and brown in the wipe and when i rendered usinge juicer i get a lot of red and no alpha channels.

I also tried using the alpha transition and can't figure that out in edius either.  Edius does not have track mattes.  But that  is for another post.
