What 3rd Party Products would you like to see from Digital Juice in 2008?

Talk Back – What 3rd Party Products would you like to see from Digital Juice in 2008?

About eight months ago we decided to venture beyond our own products to offer a few select 3rd party partner plug-ins and applications at special discounted prices. The response from you was so overwhelmingly positive that we decided to expand the number and types of promotions. The result was 13 special product promotions from 8 leading plug-in and software development companies.

Your Input Needed

Now here is where we need your input. We would like to do 3x the number of promotions in 2008 (we are on track now having released 8 of the first 10) and need to know what 3rd party products you believe would add value to your productions and work-flow.

Keep in mind that our ability to partner with other manufacturers on these deals is contingent on Juice customers buying in volume. The more you buy the deeper the discount. So make sure your recommendations have broad appeal to your fellow Juicers.

What's in Your Wish List?

Some product category ideas to think about are:

  • Video editing software
  • Special effects plug-ins and software
  • Audio and/or music editing plug-ins and software
  • DVD authoring plug-ins and software
  • Print and Presentation plug-ins and software
  • Content: animations, graphics, stock film and photo, Sound FX, Music, etc.

It would be helpful if you could suggest both the company and product names in your feedback and we will work hard to make them a reality.

We really look forward to hearing your ideas!

Steve Roche is the Digital Juice G.M. Retail & Services, and is the driving force behind our third party partner relationships and deals.

One comment I have is to make sure that the third party plug-ins work or, if there are some restrictions, then to advise people prior to the purchase. I bought Magic Bullets Film Looks from you and immediately found on installation that there were some effects that would not work with Premier Pro. This was not made known prior to my purchase. I wrote you and received a reply from Dave with an apology and his promise that he would mention it to the appropriate department. However, I bought a product that does not fully work so I am not sure whether it is of value or not.

CycoreFX.com has two new plug-in packages called Path Tools and Sphere Utilities. They also make their CycoreFX HD plug-ins. They offer them all in a mega bundle which I'd love to see offered by Digital Juice.

Love to see Conduit Live from DV Garage. Psunami from Red Giant. frischluft LensCare.
Posted on 10/23/2008 by Navarro Parker, IMG

Are you going to run the Wildform Flair promotion again? I already own a license, but would like to purchase another one or two at a discount.
Posted on 10/20/2008 by Steve Zee

How about GenArts Sapphire for After Effects, frischluft Lenscare, SynthEyes, Boujou, and Tiffen DFX?
Posted on 9/29/2008 by Navarro Parker, IMG

My recommendation would also be Zaxwerks ProAnimator FX for Motion 3.
Posted on 8/29/2008 by Frank Hand, RTÉ Television

I would like to request the Boris product that I got an email about! The email was titled:

UpRez SD to HD with Boris Continuum UpRez

Check it out!!! I'm thinking with SO many of us editors starting to work with HD and the need to uprez older footage to use in current products, this would be perfect! PLEASE think about it!
Posted on 8/28/2008 by Tony Brittan, Island Shore Productions

I echo the post about Zaxwerks ProAnimator FX for Motion 3. Especially if it is 50% like last Xmas.

Posted on 8/7/2008 by John Urman

Adobe CS3 Master Collection Pleaaaaaaaaseee!!! A good deal on this will make me use my "Swipes" ... the one that lives in my wallet the one DJ likes me to use when I go juicing.
Posted on 7/29/2008 by Afolabi Oghafua

I agree with Mike's post about making "sold out" items available again, especially the music. There are many of us who are new to video editing, and missed a lot of the products you once had available. Maybe offer them on a piece basis. If we want a song or a juice drop from a sold out product, offer that missing piece for 1$. You'll still make a lot more money (100 drops in the older sets is 100$ right there!) and allow the newbies to find things that are affordable. 3rd Party software...didn't you once offer Sony Vegas Pro 8? I cannot find it on your site... there is no Search box for your site, and no link to 3rd party software at all...and my trial version has expired. Thank you.
Posted on 7/28/2008 by Crystal E.

I think Zaxwerks new ProAnimator FX plug-in for Motion 3 and FCP would be a great 3rd party offering. I'm sure many of us Mac users would be interested in purchasing.
Thanks

Love to see noise industries FXFactory again. Didn't have the money the first but loaded the demo and know I must have it.
Posted on 7/2/2008 by Jerome Myers, Azlan Digital Media

I'd love to see Zaxwerks Invigorator.
Posted on 6/28/2008 by frank antinozzi, Xtreme Video Productions

3rd party??? Great... but shouldn't you first renew some of your own excellent products? For example, when looking through Music Stacks and we see music we would immediately buy, you allow us listen to it to tantalize us. And they you tell us its "Sold Out and no longer available". And that list has been rapidly growing. For serious video editors, this is frustrating. We've been waiting patiently for you to make these much wanted titles available again, such as Cinematic, Serious, Corporate Stacks II and so on. Yes, third party's great... but first lets take of things at home.
Posted on 6/21/2008 by Mike Warren

special effects plug ins and software, DVD authoring plug ins and software.
MAgic Bullet Suite.
Thx
Posted on 6/19/2008 by Jean KROU, Krou Communications

You just had Vision Lab as a promotion and what kept me back from buying it was the fact I already had half of the effects in other packages from other offers you had in the past. The same company offers the effects portion and the compositing portion as separate products. Perhaps you can get them to offer those products for folks who already have an effects package but need compositing or if you have compositing, like I do, they can offer the effects package here?

Also, more from Zaxworks, their ProAnimator is awesome! (I got that here last year).

I don't know if this exists, but are there packages of scripts for DVD Studio Pro? Scripts that you can use for making specialized functions on a DVD? Otherwise, I have found most of what you offer to be worth examining and considering if not buying when it's offered here. I am now in the habit of waiting to see if it's offered here for better pricing than what is offered elsewhere.

Thanks for doing such a great service for us

Vegas plugins or add-ons please!

Also, more hardware deals: dollies, cranes, stabilizers, lighting, hard-drives, etc.

I got to go with Zaxworks Proanimator & Adobe CS3 Master Collection.

Some time ago I remember seeing a tripod spreader, or was it an entire tripod? that had wheels that could be calibrated to do circular trucking shots. It was a third party advertising on your site but not anymore. Is there a list of past advertisers?

CS3 master suite, I am reaching for my credit card now....

Cycore FX HD is a great set of high-end plug-ins. The "HD" version includes more features and higher-color depth than the standard plug-ins that ship with After Effects.

Secondly, I'd like to suggest Tiffen DFX, a collection of gorgeous plug-ins that replicate Tiffen's world famous photography filters.

Third, I'd like to offer up Frischluft Flair and Lenscare for AE, another collection of high-end VFX plug-ins.

There's Genarts Sapphire, an incredibly comprehensive, high-end (and very expensive) set of After Effects plug-ins.

Lastly, Re:vision Effections, a collection of all their plug-ins (DENoise, ReelSmart Motion Blur, Shade/Shape, SmoothKit, Twixtor, etc)
Posted on 4/25/2008 by Navarro Parker, IMG

Where on the site can you buy past offers??
Posted on 4/17/2008 by Neil Schneider, Sonoran Communications

How about ShowStoppersFX and their Animation Construction Kit. It lets you construct custom write-on style animated titles. Beautiful script writing with different variations to choose from.
Posted on 4/16/2008 by Sharon Steele

Ditto on more plug-ins for Sony Vegas. I already have Ultimate S3 but that and other VASST products is a suggestion. I also have Sonicfire Pro but I hope the fact that it has been offered as a partner product is some indication that Stacktraxx music will eventually be released in a Smartsound compatible format as many have suggested/requested.
Posted on 4/14/2008 by Bruce Bernard, Bernard & Stuczynski

I would love to see the Sonicfire Pro 4.5 deal again. The funds were not available at that time.
Posted on 3/28/2008 by Casey Selph, Angus Church

I work in Vegas and can't use most of the third party products that you've offered. I'd love to see you add Vegas-compatible plug-ins and programs.
Posted on 3/26/2008 by Len Nachbar, Creative Signworks

I would really welcome a deal on the Tiffen Dfx Complete Plug-in for Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop etc. I have tried the 15 day trial and think the software is superb but the retail price is currently beyond my budget. The software is made by Digital Film Tools. Keep up the great work guys.
Posted on 3/17/2008 by John Baynham, JBP Media

Being new to Digitaljuice I'd love to see Zaxworks Proanimator back up as well as 3D software. I joined up just as Particle Illusion 3.0 was featured....man what a great buy!!

Cheers

Red Giant's Trapcode Form (http://www.redgiantsoftware.com/trapcodeform.html) is a product that I just discovered and I feel gives creative editors some of the most incredible effects to date anywhere on the Windows and Mac platform. Check out the flash tutorials (via the link above) to get a glimpse of what this product has in store.

From Red Giant's website, "Words dissolve into sand, logos catch fire, and water droplets ripple to bass guitar. All of this is possible with a single powerful plug-in that generates animated 3D shapes to mesmerize and entice viewers. Choose from 61 customizable presets, or tweak your own to get just the look you want. Full integration with After Effects’ 3D environment allows you to fly cameras through and around your animated forms."

Please give us a sweet deal on Trapcode Form, Digital Juice, please.

I just realized that ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS CS3 even at half-price is still way too expensive for me.

Let me re-phrase: THE "BEST DJ DEAL" ON ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS CS3, PLEASE!

Posted on 3/3/2008 by Brian Maglaya

I would like to see following items:

- GridIron Nucleo Pro 2
A great timesaver for all AE users on multi-core machines.
- Genarts Sapphire plugins for AE and Avid XPress Pro
Great visualfx plugins
- digieffects Walker Effects
Versatile effects and compositing toolbox for AE
- Synthetic Aperture Color Finesse 2
Advanced color correction tool for AE
- Boris Continuum Complete AVX
Visual FX toolbox for Avid
- Voxengo audio plugins
A number of very good plugins (i.e. Analogflux Suite, Pristine Space,
Voxformer) available for Mac and PC (VST/AU)
- Waves audio plugins or bundles (native)
The standard for high-quality audio plugins

Well, that may be enough for today.
Posted on 3/2/2008 by Michael Muth

Sasquatch from Worley Labs, a plug in for Lightwave, is too expensive for me to consider, but I want it. Also the FPrime plugin would be helpful.

Twixtor from RE:Vision Effects would also be great for creating speed effects in After Effects.

I would love to see more products that support Sony Vegas software.
Posted on 3/1/2008 by Daryl H.

Thank you for asking this question. I would love to get a 3rd party deal on Final Cut Studio, Photoshop and After Effects. Also Final Draft the Scriptwriter's Suite would be sweet. I ordered the Pro Animator deal a while back and what helped me make that decision was the short promo video you did on the product. I have jumped to the 3rd party's sites and sometimes they are boggled with text heavy information but the videos you create are quick, to the point and can help push a someone who's debating over the edge to buy.

I'm ready to buy FC Studio, After Effects and Photoshop right now so tell Apple and Adobe to get on board, we're ready to buy. Oh and please re-offer some of the deals more than once since our needs for a particular software can change depending on projects we're working on. Thank you for asking.
Posted on 2/29/2008 by Maria Tototzintle

As stated by other posts, Zaxwerks ProAnimator gets my vote to be brought back as well. I couldn't fit it in my budget the first time, but this time I'll make it fit. Thanks in advance!
Posted on 2/29/2008 by Roderick Sartor

I'd like you to feature the digital film tools programs again (power mask & power stroke). By the time I had a chance to try them out and do the tutorials, they were gone off your special. It would be nice to revisit some old specials for those of us that are a little slow making decisions.

I create many demonstration videos for professional athletes/performers. These people depend on me to punch-up their video resume. Some of the products I would be interested in purchasing are:

the proDAD series of software - Heroglyph, Vitascene, Mercali, and Adorage.
SpiceMASTER soft organic transitions and effects.

It's great that you pass these volume sales on to the consumer.
Posted on 2/28/2008 by Jerry Peacock, Wiregrass Montage

It's got to be Zaxworks Proanimator. Although I need it to be just a bit cheaper than last time...

Failing that I'd like to discover some really good text base tools for Premiere CS3. Text is just so poor in the application it needs a significant overhaul.

Here is my list in order of importance:

1. Sapphire plugins
2. Trapcode plugins (shine, starglow, 3D stoke, lux)
3. Final Draft suite
4. Ultra (or some other keying software)
5. Layered .PSD DVD menus

Hi,

I think that Vertus Fluid Mask would be a great deal at 50 %.

It's a very effective tool for masking, it's really fast, with a great ease of use. It can quite easily work with complex picture to extract exactly what you want to... extract.

Grid Iron's Nucleo Pro (For AE)
Grid Iron's Flow (For everything)

Dear Digital Juice,

I would like to see you guys have to sell Fx Home's Vision Lab Studio
Posted on 2/27/2008 by Richard Vernillo

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, how about the film fx and transitions from ARTBEATS that include, light leaks, filmburn, stutters, sprockets, etc...I would love if you guys had that. Also, how about editing software like the premiere 2.0 or cs3 the new GenArts filmfx for Windows, and any effects plugins for premiere! Wow, I could go on and on!

Thanks Guys!
Posted on 2/27/2008 by Jeff Beavers, InFocus Productions

Not everybody is on the major video editing packages. You did a poll a while back and there is a significant chunck of us non Avid Apple Adobe types.

My point is, look for apps that are stand alone and not dependant on other software.
Posted on 2/27/2008 by William Morgan, Restoration Ministries

Nucleo Pro background renderer for After Effects. I know it's pretty specialized, but we have used it at work and I would love to get it for my home studio. It's really an amazing product and huge timesaver when working in after effects.
Posted on 2/27/2008 by Vernon Hunt, Image Matters

Another vote here for occasional repeats of previous offers: specifically Sorenson Squeeze and Zaxwerks ProAnimator. Both of which I either couldn't afford at the time or didn't really need - but, of course, shortly after the offers ended up came an opportunity for repeat jobs that needs them both!
Not sure about the usefulness of offering NLEs etc as most people pn this site would probably have their NLE of choice but perhaps a sweeet deal on upgrades to the latest would be of interest?
Other software that could be of interest to many includes Frame Forge 3D Pro (Previz software. See www.frameforge.com) and anything Maya.
The offers you have arranged so far have been excellent and I've taken you up on quite a few.
Posted on 2/27/2008 by Kevin Luck

Adobe Ultra would be very nice for those who like to do Chroma Key. Currently using Premiere Pro which works quite well. Would purchase Ultra but they insist that we purchase the entire Windows® edition of Adobe® Creative Suite® 3 Production Premium software at $1,699.

The Virtual Sets Libraries that go with Ultra would also be nice.

Audio: Izotope Ozone, Trash, and Spectron, Propellerheads Recycle

Content: Dosch Design LayerFX, Clipart Design - Ultimate Background series, Ultimate Ornaments Mega Pack, and Ultimate Icons Mega Pack

My list is mostly software, since I already have most of the plugins that I was needing (most of them purchased through your deals...THANKS)

- Lightwave
- 3D Studio Max
- Final Cut Pro
- Particle Illusion (Emitter Libraries)
- Wacom Tablet

The main one I am looking for is a deal on FCP. The others are pretty much even on my list of "gotta have" things.
Posted on 2/27/2008 by Jerry Jones (aka Lthrboots from the DJ Forums), JGJ Media

I second the deal on any Adobe product - specifically Photoshop CS3 Extended and After Effects CS3.
Or a special on the CS3 suite.
Posted on 2/27/2008 by James Bucciferro

I am a big fan of Digital Juice and own many of your products, which includes a lot of the third party products from your site. However, I would like to see you re-offer some of the plugins and software so that I can get another opportunity at purchasing them.

At this time, I use the Adobe CS2 Suite so the ULTIMATE product for me would be a fantastic discount on the upgrade price of the Adobe Creative Suite 3 Master Collection. I am sure if that is offered, a major portion of your customer base would be interested. We want the best, and, Adobe is the best. Getting the Master Collection at an incredible price would definitely be the ULTIMATE on my wish list.

Posted on 2/27/2008 by Donald Clyne, Nevada Software LLC

I'd love to see After Effects plug-ins from Red Giant (formerly Trapcode stuff), I missed out on those last time. Also, ANY OTHER AE plugins would be great. Big discounts on SonicFire Pro ML libraries would be great as well.
Posted on 2/27/2008 by Tim Knapp, DreamLine Ent

I would like to see ProAnimator.
Posted on 2/27/2008 by Lewis Schoenbrun

I would be interested in seeing Digital Juice offer some third-party 3D and 2D animation programs, such as Poser, Maya, Animation Master (by Hash), or Toon Boom Studio.

A script writing program like Final Draft would be great too. Thanks for asking, and for working with other vendors to get good deals for your customers!
Posted on 2/27/2008 by Roger Rome

Ok how about Ultra Key or some Professional Chroma Key softwere with some animated backgrounds. I think Serious Magic was purchased by Adobe and they sell it now.....Ok how bout a crazy idea...I know DJ is a software company, but how about a HD Camera? Sony PMW-EX1? Thanks for makeing such great products!
Posted on 2/27/2008 by Phil Schuyler, Premier Video

We use an Adobe environment (Creative Suite and Production Studio). We use Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, and Audition primarily. We always look at any plugins for these products. We would also like to see a discount opportunity on upgrades to these products if you can convince Adobe to let it happen. We are very heavily into graphics and animations at present and would definitely be interested in any plugins in these areas as opposed to stand alone programs to ensure integration. Title/text stuff doesn't interest us much for what we do. We have been impressed by some of the work that the DJ staff has done. Any chance you could provide a list of products for the different effects you have produced? For instance, the highly reflective 3d animated objects, the loopability of the jumpbacks, some of the fire/water/particle stuff, etc. Thanks for the opportunity to express our needs and God bless everyone at Digital Juice. Curtis Powell Holy Family Press/Studios
Posted on 2/27/2008 by Curtis Powell, Holy Family Gifts

Bring back Particular and the rest of the Trapcode products!!! I wasn't able to get it the first time around but would love to get it now.

And one package that I would get immediately - if you could get the ReVision Effections for AE, or at least Twixtor and RE:Flex.
Posted on 2/27/2008 by David Petersen

You have offered BorisFX products in the past but there is a new one that I would like to see offered. It's The Boris Title Toolkit plugin for After Effects. I am always looking for new ways to work with text styles and animations and I'm sure many other AE users would jump at the opportunity to get this plugin for 50% off.
Posted on 2/27/2008 by James Prisby

Wow, Sapphire plug ins would rock... I'm all for getting a chance to see new plug ins for FCP, PPro, AE etc... I've loved all of the plug-ins and 3rd party programs that I've purchased so far... Often things that I've wanted or needed and until your offers, just didn't go for...
Posted on 2/27/2008 by Matthew Sowder

In your current deal I picked up particle illusion and it would be great to see a deal on their pro emmitter libraries.

I have to agree with the earlier post regarding storyboard software as well. I know you had a deal for storyboard software earlier but it was a bit too "lite" for what I was looking for. A package that could create animatics would be great.

Also I have a strong preference for packages that DJ staff uses and likes themselves when possible.
Posted on 2/27/2008 by Chuck Wardin, Digital Spectra, Inc

Sapphire plugins!!! (GenArts)

Posted on 2/27/2008 by John Stanowski

DVDLab Pro from MediaChance would be useful for many people. It is a DVD authoring program which is strictly compliant to the DVD spec, ensuring maximum compatibility for DVD's created by it. It is also used professionally.

There are web tutorials available for beginners to get started, and it has some of the most advanced capabilities for expert users who want to get fancy with their DVD's such as putting 16:9 and 4:3 versions of your movie on one DVD. It is also easy to make your DVD's highly interactive, such as creating a "Quiz" feature where users use their remote to select answers to questions; this would be useful for educational DVD's.

It's simply the best DVD authoring program in existence today.

http://mediachance.com/dvdlab/dvdlabpro.html

Mediachance recently acquired EditStudio PRO from Puremotion LTD. and are promoting a bundle of the two products. The addition of EditStudio adds encoding as well as capturing and editing, etc.
Posted on 2/27/2008 by Neil Weber

I like that you actually care enough to ask us what we want ;) - There are a lot of Final Cut users out here and I would love to have access to the many fine plug-ins, Boris products, stock footage, stock photos, Photoshop and even elements (and plugins) would be great - all in one convenient place with special deals that do repeat - so we can take advantage of them when it works for our budgets.
We are all looking for great products to enhance our workflow and create a unique look in our projects - that is why we are Juice users in the first place. Thanks
Posted on 2/27/2008 by Bernie Parsons

It would be cool to get a deal on music from D.A.W.N www.dawnmusic.com

Their "Super Themes" series is really impressive, but alas a wee bit expensive. Still, it would be great if future DJ Stack Traxx volumes could take a bit of inspiration from some of the super themes volumes.
Posted on 2/27/2008 by Marc Einbinder

How about WildForm Flair?

With Flair you can:

# Create professional Flash & video presentations
# Convert PowerPoint to Flash
# Author E-learning quizzes and courses
# Generate demos, tutorials and simulations
# Produce multimedia websites, slide shows & ads

This software is great for creating rich multimedia presentations!
I've used it with JumpBacks and ETK content to create several presentations that blew the audience away. If nothing else, it can import and convert just about any kind of video file to flash video with excellent results.
Posted on 2/27/2008 by Marc Einbinder

How about a deal on Adobe Photoshop?? I mean Juice Drops is a major product line for Digital Juice that when all is said and done requires Photoshop to use fully and properly. Yes there are other Photoshop like programs that can open PSD files but they don't always open accurately with all layers intact and/or open certain files at all.

In addition, with the coming Worship Drops and Type Drops, it just seems logical to try and get Photoshop into the hands of as many Juice Users as is possible. For Adobe what better way to showcase what Photoshop is capable of than with Juice Products having the word "Drops" in their names?

I'm using Fireworks MX 2004, but it can't open some of the Juice Drop files due to a "not enough memory error." It's not my computer...I've got 4 gigs or ram installed...it's the limitations of the program.

So, how about a deal on Adobe Photoshop?
Posted on 2/27/2008 by Marc Einbinder

Personally, I think a tool that would bring value is Storyboard software... tools that complement and expand what you offer already.
Posted on 2/27/2008 by Rett Evans, BANKWALKER Inc

I would have to agree with the other comments, From time to time bring back some of the plugins/soft ware that was offered before. I have purchased many of them, but was not able to purchase everyone of them I wanted at the time they were avail. All the tools from Zaxwerks would be good, as would all the tools from newtek and red giant. I would also like to see the upgrade to adobe production suite at a down load reduced price as well as previously mentioned how about the online training from from total training that would be great. Anything from or for after effects, and while we are dreaming big how about deals on lighting kits or electronic slate boards. I know, now that is a big list. I own many of your products, but I want more it is like, well an adiction......... Thanks guys at digital juice

Well, I alreayd have it, but I think it is a great product and would be beneficial to others is Newtek Lightwave and the associated plugins 3D Arsenal and Ammo Pak.

One item I would like to see and I'm not even sure if something like this exists in a 3rd party plug in already, is a tool that allows you to create an overlay from an existing still image or video clip.I guess it would be an "Alpha Channel Air Brush" for lack of a better term. A tool that would not only allow a clean cut but also for feathering on the edge.
Posted on 2/27/2008 by Jeff Senkowski, N/A

I would love to see the Sapphire Plugin from GenArts...especially the Lighting module. Thanks for thinking to offer these special deals...ive already done one...its a marvelous value add.
Posted on 2/27/2008 by raymond lasky, total media

What would be nice to see is some of the previous deals come back from time to time too. Since you are getting new people to the site all the time and some people couldn't afford the deal the first time around. I liked how you had a 3rd Party section on the Product Categories, that is a great way to keep some active and easy to find.

I'm not sure exactly what is out there, but how about some deals on training as well, whether it is DVD based, online based, etc. That would help some of us that are trying to improve our skills.

Also what about Presentation software, specifically designed for the church market, like MediaShout or the others. Since you have a large church following, that would be a great addition, especially if it was combined with the new worship products you have coming out.
