I wish our company owned their own green screen. Then I could play and practice so much more. We rent one 2-3 times a year for sports media days, but I'm so rushed those days, I don't get time to play around. I would like to use Perry's tips for creating a small green screen to have almost anywhere. Someday, someday.

Hey Chris, chroma keying is a great creative way to take a piece of video and make it look amazing. Thanks for showing us how to get a fantastic end result. But like you said with proper setup (mainly lighting) you can save yourself a lot of work in the edit bay.

Thanks again,

Russ

Wonderful tips on how to get the most out of your green screen footage. I loved the AE tips especially. The intro footage created from the green screen and composited in AE was really eye-catching. Great job, Ace!

Wow that was quick. But enough info to be useful and inspiring. Thanks.

I can't see it, my flash player plugin won't go beyond 'loading', despite just updating it and rebooting/restarting.

AND now I can't download it now in decent quality (I only have slow DSL) to watch later (and 320x240 on a 1600x1200 res screen is too small)

no more DJ shows for me I guess

Great overview of the keying process for beginners like me.

Nothing less than five stars! You are really expanding my horizons. Thanks! BTW, I'll happily watch a commercial in order to keep these things coming for free!!

That was VERY informative, I have been worndering alot about how to do some of the things that you showed in this episode. Thanks

This is another Great! Segment from DJTV. PremiereMedia.Biz in NJ Loves this stuff and we try to use every new lesson to keep current and train our new staff.

Keep Up the Great Work!

I liked the non-subject related details in this episode that made me laugh!! The "Detention", the hot dog on the desk, etc. Great job!

Another excellent tutorial in general and on Green Screens in particular.

I too, however, do miss the file format download options; please bring them back.

Great Stuff! I, too, missed all the other formats for download. Thanks for teaching us the secrets of our tools in such and engaging way.

Great Episode, very helpful on the creative application on keys. It would be nice to see some tutorials for Eyeon Digital Fusion in the future though. I know you are a mac based organization, but you can't deny the power of the pc-based digital fusion (the movie 300 anyone?)

Keep it up

Wow, that's great! I really need to learn how to do that fancy stuff. :) It would be nice if we got some demos using Premiere Pro, though, since as many (or more) use that vs FCP.

PS - Quicktime is easier to save locally than Flash, but I suppose you planned that ;)

It plays! That's worth major points in my book.

Very personable host, but wish he was looking at me (all viewers) instead of off to my right (at the script).

The choice of only IPOD download is very disappointing. I liked the HIGH QUALITY option to download and watch later with good quality. Now I have to squint and swear.

Yeah, I'll be saving this one. Although I normally read instructions for a lot of things, I've tried using the Chroma Keyer on a trial-&-error basis. This will save me a bunch of time.

There are a lot of guys out there that know this stuff like the backs of their hands...for everyone else, this is why their stuff looks so good.

Great Job Ace! That was a very helpfull episode that is really going to help me out in my chroma keying. Thanks a bunch!

Another winner. We use Ultra, now something different in Adobe, but these tips and tricks will certainly prove effective on many different occassions. Got to love it!

That was really great. We don't see Vegas much on DJTV anymore. I think it would've been good here since adding chroma blur puts the clip in 4:4:4 color space. I guess you should know your software anyway so, oh well. The episode was great though. It encouraged me & the ending clip was real nice. Wonder if I can duplicate it. good job, as usual.

I am a fledgling "Key Master"! This episode was awesome. Between my "normal" job and other responsibilities, I have precious little time to read manuals or books. DJTV gives me the "kick-start" to unlock the secrets of video editing and the other aspects of my new business. Thanks! The keying episode was great---now I know HOW to get the green glow off of my bald head.

Like it so much! Very informative in a very short span of time. But still don't like your set where you shoot your videos. It contrast your field of expertise. Your set looks like a commandants office in a military base. Oh well, that's just my opinion.

Hey guys, as always another fantastic job, but like David said, where are the downloads, and do we have to put up with commercials now? The support and assistance DJ provides though video tutorials and tips/tricks is the main incentive for me to regularly visit the site and slowly (but surely) build my DJ Library. But the commercials spoil it a bit by turning what was a great support to your customers into a revenue raising opportunity. I know at the end of the day that's what you are in business for, but it sort of spoils it a bit for me. I will still watch and support DJ, but just thought I'd offer honest feedback. Cheers :)

This is by far the BEST tutorial I've ever seen on Keying! So straight forward... I would like to know if the dancer's footage has been captured with a Mini-DV camera... I Remember you guys mentioning on TAKE 5 about the compression that goes into it when shooting Mini-DV and therefore the hassle to key it.
