Partner Product Training: Introducing Red Giant PlaneSpace

Manage After Effects 3D Layers The Easy Way

Hosted by Kevin P. McAuliffe, Pro Editing @ Home

RELEASE DATE: JULY 14, 2009

In this tutorial learn about PlaneSpace - the application that eliminates the tedious task of managing the individual layers in multi-layer effects. The Creator tools automatically create layers that form cubic, cylindrical, and spheroid shapes or complex matrices, while the six Distribute tools arrange 3D layers throughout 3D space into the shape of your choice without requiring keyframes or complicated math.

Kevin, I'm watching this tutorial again. I picked up more the second time around. I can see a lot of possibilities for this plug-in. You have given a lot of detail in such a "Plane" way. thanks again for a great tutorial.

I just talking to a friend today about these kinds of effects trying to figure them out on after effects. I am a rookie AE & DJ user and am certainly appreciating the tutorials because they're helping me to get my feet wet. I thank you personally for such a phenomenal tutorial.

This is amazing. I am often intimidated by AE, and I know enough to do some basic moves but these plug ins will make my presentations look amazing. GREAT JOB!

Very Good Introduction. It cleard up the mystery of the product. I couldn't this get from Red Giants website.

I would like to see the next tutorial using more complicated examples as you might see in a movie, a trailer, news cast or commercial.

Hey Chris,

The best part about PlaneSpace is that once you understand how one of the Creators and Distributors works, the others work exactly the same!

Now I HAVE to buy this! Doing a moving video wall in just 1D with random sizes and speeds was extremely time consuming. This will REALLY add to the Gee Whizz factor of what we can create, and cut the time too! The software is really cool, but the tutorial was Better. Nice job Kevin. Thanks.
