This is a great tutorial. I only use Premiere occasionally. This is a nice tutorial on doing more with DJ Fonts. Great. Make's purchase of fonts so worth it.

Can you make a tutorial on how to recreate this in Sony Vegas Pro 8 or 9?

Enjoyed this as an idea for use in FCP and Motion. Thank you for your great instruction!

This tutorial was great! One thing different...I did not have to nest to another sequence for the Track matte key to work for me. May the difference in revision? I am using
Premier Pro CS3.

Thanks much!

Awesome. Thanks. I have CS3 and so also had trouble selecting "nest" (it wasn't there), so I simply took it to Adobe Media Encoder and made a Quicktime movie. The rest went very well and now I have a nice-looking glint. Thanks!

Nice effect. I have AI and FCP will see if I can replicate the effect there.

Bohus or anyone. CS3 does not seem to have the "nest" command. Is there a workaround?
Am I missing something?

tried multiple times with Premiere Pro CS3 and had no success. The nesting technique is a little confusing. Can you elaborate?

Very good tutorial. I have learned something new in premiere pro that I did not know before.
Thanks a million.

seems to be similar to the light rays used in Sony Vegas Pro

Hi...Bohus i' m always fascinated watching your tutorial. Give us more of your unprecedented knowledge. Can you simply do anything After Effect? its simply a request.

Well, no... not everything can be done the same way as in After Effects. AE has many tools and plug-ins to make these sort of effects more automatic. My point isn't to propose Premiere as a replacement for AE, but to show how editors tend to underutilize many of the facilities buitl into Premiere.

Glad that you enjoyed the video. More to come!

Thanks. Some one of these days I should be able to come up with something remarkable...I sure own enough of the DJ collection - now just to release the creative touches. Even though basic, these videos help inspire. Thanks

  • bohus blahut, The Vantage Point

Sorry - I'm not sure what you're referring to by "flash effect". Care to elaborate?

  • PAUL CHATMAN

I think you're referring to the transition. these are in your non-linear editor like sony Vegas and premier pro. or you can make your own using DJ's motion design tools.

This is what makes that extra touch to our work to have it stand out. The touch of an artist. Thanks for the tip. t.

Great stuff once again, Bohus! These are the kind of super-practical tutorials that so many of us love. For a less than seasoned vet like me, that little tip of nesting the tracks together to be able to move them around easier was a real "ah-ha" moment - thanks!

  • Kathleen W., freelance

Bohus,
Great tutorial but one question: Could you have used the 1st text track (in V2) as the track matte for the the white blurred box (in V3)as the glint?

  • bohus blahut, The Vantage Point

Sorry, I'm not exactly clear. Are you asking whether we can avoid having two copies of the same graphic on the timeline?

  • Larry Chapman, Fort Collins Video, LLC
  • 11 months ago

I use this technique all the time. However, I've never had to do the "nesting trick". Not sure what's up with that.
