WOW - SUPER JOB. I am soo loving AUDIO BUZZ.
One question arises, I 'play' with Adobe Audition. Does this program have the compression feature you mentioned or do I need a differant program.
Thanks love your series.
NEXT WEEK SERIES - How to use Audition to it's fullest potention. Oh yea and a free download of the source and project so you can watch and play at the same time...
Don't forget to TUNE and TURN it UP for Audio BUZZ!

Thumbs up to DigitailJuice for kickin' out some Audio Buzz. Audio is the video anchor, dig in deeper.

Great stuff, Jeff. Audio is indeed the step child of video production and needs attention. I appreciated the specific examples of settings, etc. My only request would be to get a bit more detail and real world examples. Your segments tend to be rather short, about half of the other shows. If audio is so important, as you contend and I agree, shouldn't there be a bit more included?

Thanks Jeff. Good info. Maybe in some future episodes, could you explain, in more detail, the basics of doing those tips in an NLE (such as FCP)? I know most know how to do these, but I'm sure there are a bunch of us would appreciate the details. But, this was a good overview. 4 stars

Thank you! This teaching is very important to me as a video editor.
I learn so much from you. Keep up the good work!

I am very thankful to all of you for providing this service. I have struggled alot with audio, and the "normalizing" tip was especially helpful to me. Good Job All Of You!

THANK YOU for explaining Normalization! That's one of those things I've always felt like I'd be dumb to ask. And the room noise recording was a great idea! One of those things I used to think about, but have forgotten lately, and need to make a habit again.
Great tips, and it was short, succinct and to the point! Almost too short! Thanks Jeff!

I'd like to see a bit more information on compression.
As I looked at your screen there seems to be a few more controls which you don't explain at all.
Also you don't explain the controls which you do use.
What is ratio?
What is threshold?
You assume a lot.
I'd like to see a real example.
An audio file which needs some work and what you do to fix it up.
Good overall, but I'd like more detail.

This is exactly what I was needing, THIS IS MY FAVOURITE VIDEO!!
5 Stars!!
We have to focus more on audio... he said it, if we work so hard on video... why not do the same for the audio?
A++++++

ok so what were all the audio tools you used in the beinning? Just eye candy? They were never explained. And is "compression" standard in audio editing software such as Audition?
Another great production.
