Presenting the Rush
An Extreme Producer's Story
by Duke Hillinger

My Dad had a high performance racing snowmobile that he let me drive (when he wasn't): a Ski-Doo 640cc TNT with high compression heads, twin external tuned exhaust pipes, slats, oversized carb, racing suspension and cleats. Man it was fast, unbelievably fast for the time. When I was 13, I made a 3-minute 8mm short that really showed off that 100mph yellow and black blur of a sled. Upon seeing my first film project, many friends and family started referring to me as"the next Warren Miller," except for my Dad, who just called me "Rocket." He could sense even then that speed and danger certainly didn't scare me. I was hooked on speed and on showing off that adrenaline rush on film to others.

THE LOCAL RUSH
My first television show was "Everybody's Sports and Adventure Connection," which was a show dedicated to getting people off the couch and out into the world of sport and adventure. It aired in the Midwest in the late 80s and early 90s. The show had great time slots around many Chicago Bulls, Blackhawks and White Sox games on Sports Channel, but it was locally hot and nationally not. I knew then, however, that I was good at showing off the rush.

GOING NATIONAL
It wasn't until I started Adrenaline TV in the late 90s that I realized I needed more than just compelling video to entertain viewers at the national level. An associate of mine showed me some different moving graphic backgrounds and it was love at first site. These new motion backgrounds spiced up my graphics with big flashes of color and movement. It was that first Digital Juice disc that helped make my show look like a million bucks.

Currently, I'm the President and Executive Producer for Paintball Television Productions, which produces TV shows for the Ultimate Arena Paintball League and the World Paintball League, the "World's Fastest Paintball". The Superstation WGN has contracted us to do 41 shows for 2006. My partners and I are looking forward to getting the latest Digital Juice discs to enhance our new show, which starts airing Saturday, March 26th at 7pm (CST). Imagine the WWE meets Adrenaline TV meets Arena Paintball: it's going to be off the hook! Check our Web site www.uapl.tv for more info on when you can catch future shows.

As the Doctor of Adrenaline and King of Rush, I've captured some of the world's most exciting extreme sports footage ever seen. I rely on Digital Juice to make that footage presentable and help me transform my off-the-hook footage into first-rate entertainment.
