YOUR CHANCE TO MAKE YOUR
VOICE HEARD Got a question,
comment or suggestion? We would love to hear it. THE
"HUMAN FACTOR"
I own Jump Backs volumes 1-8 (and volume 16) along with the Editor's
Toolkits 1 & 2. More than to congratulate you for such high quality
and high impact products, I would like to give you a suggestion about
something you added recently that pleased me a lot, and I would love
to see on future Jump Backs volumes: the "human factor."
I recently came to your Website and saw the new ALL MUSIC volume (Jump
Backs volume 25) and I'm VERY impressed with that volume for that
specific reason. You added human life into these animations. This
is outstanding! Since I saw real people (or animated people, whatever)
on those animations, I'm VERY interested in this volume for many purposes.
And it's on the TOP of my list. I'll purchase 10 new volumes, due
to the amazing Bundle cost. I want to encourage you to add this "human
factor" in future themes, whatever they are, because this is really
impressive and it is what I have been looking for probably since the
last 5 years. So, please use this technique again! It increases the
value and USE of your products tremendously. -Carlos

Thanks for writing, Carlos. I'm glad you like the "human
factor" (as you put it) that we included in Jump Backs volume
25: All Music. The people that I showed it to at WEVA in Las Vegas
last month ooo-ed and ahh-ed
over it, too. Rest assured, this is only the beginning. We have
plans to include human elements in more Jump Backs volumes and
in some of our upcoming toolkits as well. In fact, we may (ahem
- read into this statement what you will - wink, wink nudge, nudge)
MAY be working on an entirely new product line built around the
"human factor". Stay tuned... -CP
THE WRITE STUFF
I am enjoying your magazine considerably. In fact, I would buy it
if it weren't free! Amazing stuff! I read Videomaker and PC Photo
like they are video bibles - I now
include Digital Juice magazine as well! Do you have any recommendations
of other
resources including magazines, other programs, tutorial series --
anything, anything. I am still at the intermediate stage of my "learning
curve" and want to be the best I can. Anything you might be able
to share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the great resources
from Digital Juice and for your support. Please send me ANY and ALL
available back copies of Digital Juice video magazine! You guys are
incredible. -Barbara Shonk., Houston,
TX There are a lot of great resources out
there for videographers. When it comes to magazines, I recommend
spending a little time browsing at your local newsstand, as each
of the video magazines takes a slightly different approach. Videomaker
does a good job of covering the basics of shooting, lighting, editing
and audio in each issue and they also offer training videos and
hands-on workshops. If you are looking for greater technical depth
and high-end gear reviews, check out DV magazine, which has a regular
compositing column written by Trish and Chris Meyer that will appeal
to more advanced editors. I'm also really impressed with the redesigned
Studio magazine's scope and product-specific tutorials. You might
also look into training videos by Pixel Pops and Total Training
or, even better, attend a seminar or workshops offered by Douglas
Spotted Eagle and the hardworking VASST crew. Beginning videographers
can also benefit greatly from taking a class at a local community
college.-CP
