  • Why Slow Motion?
Because everything looks just a little cooler when it's in slow motion. It really does! Slowing down the footage often provides greater impact to your message. Your viewers are trained to recognize, and then pay closer attention to increases or decreases in your program's speed. It gives a more dramatic and cinematic feel when applied properly. The results can be very aesthetically pleasing.

Because nearly every shot was acquired at 60 Frames Per Second (FPS) or HIGHER, you know you're going to get the absolute best looking slow motion images possible. With VideoTraxx HD you're given the power and the choice to decide if you need Slow Motion or NOT! Bottom line, you pick whether you want Slow Motion or Real Time and the Juicer will export it out exactly the way you ordered.

Frequently Asked
Questions (FAQ)

Q: I currently only edit in standard definition. Is this package of any benefit to me?

A: Yes! There are multiple ways to use our hi-def footage in your standard definition project. For starters, every clip in the package can be converted to any current broadcast standard, with a few clicks and drags of your mouse in the Juicer. Any compositor will tell you that having more resolution than you need is never ever a bad thing. Fly-ins and push-ins are always better in programs like After Effects, Motion, and most NLE's, as they allow for maintaining a sharper image throughout the effect.

Q: How do I import a VideoTraxx HD clip into my standard definition NLE?

A: The Juicer has plenty of video presets to choose from. From DV to PAL to NTSC widescreen, 720p and 1080i, they're all there. Simply select your clips, choose your video format from the Juicer settings section and output the resolution of your choice. It's really just that simple and we'll have training videos that show you exactly how to do it.

Q: I'm using an interlaced format currently. What should I do in order to use this product in my NLE?

A: The product was acquired using progressive frames. Selecting your project requirement specification from the Settings Panel in Juicer is all you'll need to do. Depending on the speed The Juicer will then render your selected clips perfectly with the appropriate interlacing.

Q: I noticed while looking at the thumbnails there are clips that seem to be very similar to one another. Why is this?

A: One suggestion from customers for the new stock footage line was to offer more selections from a given setup. By doing so, an editor can cut a series of actions involving the same subject. An example would be having the first shot consist of a basketball player dribbling around his opponent, then cutting to another clip of the ball handler jumping over his opponent to score the basket. Having multiple shots of the same actors means more choices in the editing suite.

Q: I noticed that most clips were acquired at 60fps.I'm editing in 29.97 mode, will I have any issues?

A: No need to worry. This is the case with all stock footage acquired with film of other film like digital formats. A pull down is assigned that will repeat a few frames every second at a predetermined time. The Juicer will handle this for you and the result is undetectable to the viewer. If you would like to see this happen in real life, pop in a DVD of your favorite movie. It was converted from 24 frames per second to 29.97 frames per second for viewing on your television.

The best part is you only need to know what speed you'd like the final clip to playback as (generally slow-mo or real-time) and the final resolution and fps you would like. If you aren't sure all the industry standards are included as presets in the Juicer.

Q: Won't the clips you convert from 24fps up to 30fps look out of place in my production?

A: No, not at all. In fact they'll look great! In any case most all professional stock footage on the market today, as well as past years, was acquired at 24fps. So, if you've had no issue with any of the VideoTraxx volumes of the past, you'll certainly have no issue with VideoTraxx HD.

Q: I really only need a few clips from one of your categories. Is it possible just to purchase that particular disc or series of clips?

A: No. Currently the VideoTraxx HD library is only available as a package. However, we're convinced that for the cost of a few clips you've essentially paid for the entire library. Like all other Digital Juice products the cost/quantity ratio is undeniably weighted in the customers favor. There is no better value on the market today for professional stock footage than VideoTraxx HD.

Q: What is meant by a "shallow depth of field"? And why is it advantageous to have it in my stock clips?

A: Depth of field is the distance a subject stays in focus while moving towards or away from the lens. In the film making process a shallow depth of field is preferred as it keeps the viewer's concentration on the area or subject that the director intended. Much of the extraneous surrounding falls out of focus or becomes "blurry". This is generally accepted as a higher quality look and feel. While having everything in the background as sharp as the foreground subject is considered somewhat less professional on certain shots. In VideoTraxx HD you'll find great care went into creating that cinematic feel utilizing a shallow depth of field whenever applicable.
