BackTraxx: Installing the Panasonic DV codec

Downloading and installing the Panasonic DV codec will allow the Juicer to render out Windows AVIs using DV compression. This codec is only recommended for backgrounds and VideoTraxx and other elements that do not have alpha channels.

To install the Panasonic DV codec:

  1. Download the codec:
    http://users.tpg.com.au/mtam/software/pdvcodec.zip
  2. Unzip the package.
  3. Right click PANADV.INF.
  4. Select Install.
Then, back in the Juicer:
  1. On the Output tab, select a Save As format of AVI.
  2. Click the Settings button.
  3. In the Video Compression dialog, from the Compressor list, select Panasonic DV CODEC.

Next to the Render Settings item just above the tabs, there is a triangular twirlie you can click and select "Save as default for this type" so these setting are always the same.
